Personally, I hope that there aren't new greens for ritualists or assassins (or elementalists, warriors, mesmers, monks, rangers, necromancers, paragons, or dervishes for that matter). I dislike them; greens were initially intended to be a sort of status symbol, but now they're much more easily acquired than any other weapon, and extensive green farming means that almost everyone has one.
There probably will be new greens... I just wish that we could go back to the old days before Sorrow's Furnace came out where people wouldn't ping their weapon constantly just because they had a semi-rare weapon or would respect someone who had a custom-built collector item (not to mention all the people who use greens that have stats that they themselves admit suck just because it is a green).

I would disagree with you there NecroRebel, I think greens are a cool way to obtain perfect items with cool skins, without breaking the bank for them - they maintain balance - and they are also now very integral to game economy, a main source of income for many players.

I agree that they're a major part of the economy now, and so it wouldn't really work to remove them. However, perfect and nearperfect items such as the custom-built collector weapons are still very cheap to make (around 20k for a req 9 15^50 20/18 Sundering weapon of +28 Fortitude if that's what you like) and you can make weapons that are better than any greens that are available due to this customization. Sure, they aren't "perfect" in every way, but then, how many greens can you think of off the top of your head that have the exact stats that you would like if you were to custom-make something? I've seen 2 so far... And one is a wand that I couldn't custom-build anyway.
I wouldn't remove them from the game now, but had they never been introduced I think the game would be somewhat better than it is now.

Very true, but collector skins are often very dull and basic/uninteresting.

Again I would disagree (sorry :P) because the pretty looking skins and perfect mods would be unobtainable by the casual player.

I would have to disagee with necro on the whole greens were a bad idea thing. I have a couple points
1Greens have perfect mods and are attainable to most people by farming (especially in factions). Becuase of the attainability of these perfect weapons more people are buying/farming for them and less people are buying perfect mods. Therefore green weapons, along with the increase in perfect mods on drops, have driven the cost of perfect mods down allowing you to purchase a +28 fortitude mod at a very reasonable price.
As for the weapon pingers that is not a result of greens as I have seen just as many I am weilding a furious chaos axe of fortitude eteranl bow of blah blah blah so its not just the green items. I take the advice I got from someone on this site and respond with I am weilding a super uber twig of noobslaying and shield of flame :)
Personally I like the green items becuase I collect them. It gives me something to hunt for in between chapters

Oh so true. Nothing proves you're not a noob like looking cool and doing one damage every hit. Now all these people have to do is use leet speak and they'll be the gods of GW.

I think the original greens were cool. The ToPK update was fine...it added some interesting things. Factions overdid it. Now people are almost expected to have a green, instead of it being just a possibility. As for me, I still use golds I bought and modded instead of greens.

im somewhat with necro rebel on this one but i do think they should exist but be harder to obtain like the urgoz and deep green items i just dont lke it how killing a easy monster several tims can get you a perfect weapon with a cool skin id rather have a hard challenge that automatically gives the items. another kind of thing id like to see is a hard challenge for high costing cool looking weapons with custom stats like FoW armor

I'm also fully with Necro on this one. (sorry if someone said what I'm about to say, at work and in a hurry >_<). Less/No greens would mean more customization of weapons and not everyone would have the exact same thing. Not all collector skins are so bad, 2 Games out (3rd on its way :D) that have several collectors with max weapons that you could customize to your liking. Idk...just too many greens floating around, but we can't really compete against it because if there weren't any greens then there would be more gold weapons. As of now a 15^50 GPB goes for 100k+xxecto so some would feel bad if all they had enough money for was a collectors. Sorry if you disagreee with me, but just my crazy mind working =P

I disagree with necro semirare greens is what makes the casuel player want to play without having to grind forever and bust his wallent for a cool skin green with perfect stats but near perfect and coll skin is enough to keep the non farm bot pve players able to say yay i have something cool looking plue i think anet whats to cut down on farmming.

Since its already confirmed that there is going to be dungeons I’m thinking there’s going to be special dungeon items. Not just normal greens but items you get at the end of beating a dungeon almost like Urgoz Warren. They would be max damage, stats req.8 or 9 with red writing with 100% unique skins and maybe even an extra effect? Effects might be like +1 energy regeneration or +10% faster attack speed, something small like that.
This makes everyone happy because it give the perfect weapons and not having to grind for 10+ hours for a single THING, yet it also gives the elite-ness of having a rare item.

Not really, if it takes like 3 hours to beat a dungeon and so on not to mention that +10% attack speed isnt all the much, but i have to say after thiking for a few mins the +1 energy is a bit much.

i dont agree and i agree, think of this: a vamp wapon and tiger's fury and IWAY with IWAY team, thats 68% faster attack speed. thats overpowered.
and the +1 energy regen just will be overpowered, jeez, you can upkeep 1 permanent ench allways without having energyu probs because you have normal regen
