Bad news today for all the open beta hopefuls, but good news for all that believe in a solid game for release.

It was announced that they will not be having open beta this month. I know it's not fun to look forward to something and then have it taken away, but I'm sure they have very good reasons for making the decision they did.

I'm ok with it being pushed back. It means they realize they are not ready yet, and I am glad they can step back away from the deadlines and be able to make a decision like that. I want a good game, I can wait.

It's always a good thing to put more time in quality control.
I also read here that 'open beta' for Spellborn means lifting the NDA for existing beta testers. It doesn't mean that beta testing is open for anyone willing to do so.

Followed your link and found this further down, written by Nailros 23/9:
"Having our international community in mind, we will give away keys for our Open Beta to many of the websites out there. This sites will then hand out the keys to their visitors. Everyone having a key will activate the account and then be able to download the client at Fileplanet. So, the download will be exclusively there, but the keys won't be exclusively given away from them."
So who am i supposed to bribe to get one? =)

Yes, I did read that.
Usually those keys are given out through contests or on a first come basis. Technically, it's still a closed beta.

Allthough maybe if we combine our strength...

well...without you and EG i guess Fea and some other random staffer would run it lol. or it would fall into anarcy and the site would shut down and the world as i know it would coem to an end and i could go back to real life *shutters*

No open beta yet. But do not loose hope! I'm sure they will find a US publisher, and all will be good in the world of Spellborn. Yep. All will be good.
