Grats Bobby. ^^ When I had cable, I topped out at around 2MBS downloading updates. I have yet to break 500KBS with DSL though.

I happened to be downloading an update this morning at school and it was pretty steadily around 4.4MB/s.
I don't think there's much to complain about regarding updates in GW even with slower connections though.
Myself I live in a terribly small village with the maximum specced connection I can get here: 512/256 (don't laugh).
I download at about 53KB/s maximum, usually less since I my network traffic isn't limited to just GW when I'm updating, I'm usually running other downloads too.
However even at these rather low speeds, let's say around 40KB/s typically the GW updates are no problem really since they're nearly always very or rather small in size, it never takes long enough to get even slightly annoying I'd say.
The only way I could imagine the occasional standard updates becoming an annoyance is if you got a really slow connection like dial-up for instance.

Lol yesterday I had an average of 3kb/s while my normal is like 1 to 2 mb :P

Agreed, I had similar results as I too am on Comcast. I assume you have their 8Mb/s services? Thats what I have, and I get a similar speed. I just cant wait till the roll out the 16/1 nationwide(their currently testing it in specific areas). Cause once again, that will become their "gold" tier, which is currently 8/768, and anyone on it will get the upgrade to 16/1.

Well any speed with GW updates is still better then the updates of WoW.. *shivers* god they suck...
Check out Pirates of the Burning Sea... Yarr! We got some interestin stuff goin on!

Gratz Bobby. I usually get around 250Kbs where i live in TX. I have seen faster but not in a while. I think everyone in the neighborhood now has cable modems. When I first got it I was flying at the speeds you are enjoying. But alas, technology will continue to evolve.

not the big ones.. the small ones arent that bad.. (still take long considering their size)
never had trouble with GW updates.. usually around 300..

Nope, its still comcast. Comcast is the largest cable provider in the US. Besides, its still comcast and time warner, just because they merged doesnt mean its 1 company, much like the sprint/nextel merge, they are still 2 difference companies, just they work together.

Your probably in an area where Time Warner has a majority of its service. Therefore comcast is probably trying to get their customers in those area's to switch to time warner. That way in the area's that comcast has a majority of the market, Time Warner will try to get its customers to go to comcast, in the end it helps both companies do well.
