Only cause I am a nerd, wanted to share that I finally got one of my characters to lvl 14 and have now gained the power to FLY! Wheeeeeeee I know I am told by some it is the slowest of the powers, but have heard that it is not only one of the safest and easiest to use, but also one of the most fun movement powers. :) I had to fly all over last night, but yes, it sure sucks up the end. ;) Discovered that as I was falling. Thank goodness for Hover not needing much end.
Now to get my other characters to 14 so I can get teleport and see how I like it. :)
Tp sucks End worse than fly, it's fas but if you have to go long distances, say across steel canyon, you've got to stop in the middle to rest. Plus unlike fly that you can set in the general direction you want to go and leave the keyboard for a sec, TP required constant attention... not to mention in order for it to work effectively you'll want toget hover as well to avoid dropping like a rock into the middle of a mob.
just the downsides I guess... I personally like fly and ss.
I'm not a Super Hero, but I play one on PC!
I didn't even cheat to get the result... first try!

You are a beautiful princess with great strength of character.
I agree fly is fun but slow. I have my flight w/ 3 slots. Two DO flights and DO end reduce. Teleport is downright boring and tough to control. Never got SS but I have superjump. That is one of the best travel powers I have had. Low end use and when you finally get it if you chose combat jump you can turn it in to a defense power. Its also fun to try and leap from building to building without touching the ground. Hover is a good option if you are a blaster and want to avoid the damage from a large group.
flight is the travel power on my main, and i wouldn't give it up for the world! a little advice... 2 slot it w/ end reduction.... then if you plan on getting stamina you can replace both of those slots w/ flight speed (this is what i did) unless you want to spend an extra slot for the 3rd flight speed (unless of course you a not getting stamina then do the 3 sots 2 flight and 1 end)..... but i really love the power, even if it is slow... i can talk while travling to my destination, and i love that, and if you are high enough you are safe from just about anything!
Good point on the talking while flying. You can set your general direction and then type away. You can always tell when other without flight are typing. Stopped in the middle of the map and such.
heh, I use that as a tactic to slow down those SS'ers, keep asking them questions while going to a far off mish, then they get confused when u get there first with flight... that'll learn em to say i'm slow :P

LOL hmm...I will have to remember that one. ;)
And thanks for the tip on double slotting it and then getting stamina later. :)
much as i hate to argue against flyers sser, i perfer teleport not just because of allow me to move around quickly the teleportation pool got FRIEND RECALL one of the best group based skill allow the tper to move his fellow teammates to his location and thus can save time for the other teammate to go to certain places.

actually i took recall friend also... i don't have any of the other teleport skills, just recall friend, but it is so nice to be able to play "Liz's Taxi Service" espically when i'm in the lower level zones and see someone broadcast for a tp to the train station (in steel espically) it also comes in handy on some of the maps when the group gets seperated and you need everyone together....
now w/ another of my characters i've taken teleport as a travel power, and cannot wait till i can respec her to get something else... i have a lot of lag and teleport w/o hover is pretty much impossible for me and i really hate not having end by the time i get anywhere, teleport is not for me i guess if you can make it work it is a really fast travel power, but i've never had any luck with it

LOL!! Yeah, you butt-head! You do that to me also when I'm trying to jump across the map! It's a terror tactic that works for all but flying! No fair talking while we're traveling!! hahaha

Oh yeah, talking while on the jump has gotten me killed more than once. Usually cause something pops out of the ground or graves or water and I didn't know they could do that.
As for my pools, I have most of the movement pools somewhere. I have Hasten, Recall Friend, Combat Jumping, and Super jump. At 47 I'm taking teleport. I figure if I have wormhole (an excellent enemy tp power) and recall friend, I might as well get up the courage to pull myself through interdimensional spaces to get around. (And mostly to go through mobs to crash my pets into them.)
Plus... when you all hit 40, you'll want to go to Firebase Zulu (hints at screenshots)... there is is a MUST to have fly. Otherwise it is super hard getting around. Now, you can be the favorite in the group and have fly and tp. My main is 48 and she has sj and ss, when issue 3 hits I'm getting fly for that zone specifically. I know 40 is along time away for some, but you get there quicker then you realize.
agree with everyone, fly is slow... but really cool.
i have a question i know there is all that fly pose 1,2,3,and4 but look at this picture http://www.cityofheroesonline.com/gallery/...entral_district look at the stance that super girl is in are there any commands for something like fly stance or something
TP is my favorite travel power since it is fast and safe. By safe I mean using hover while tping. I use this tatic all of the time since I dont want to fall out of the sky when I run out of end. SS I don't like much I feel restricted when I use it. SJ I like because its like your flying almost but for less end. I love fly because you can go any where with it.

Those PvP'ers die in the large
In the beta females had different flying poses. Either before general release or soon after they changed them to be the same. I kinda wish they had left it that way, but I think it caused some graphical problems on that version.

Since we are on a bit of a discussion about travel Powers, there's something that always bothered me about SS.
Given that SS is the second fastest travel power in the game, but offers the Fastest form of movement from start to stop (teleport has a pause between each teleport), why is there no motion blur for SS?
That kind of irks me, it doesn't have to be like those you see in Racing games, It just has to be subtle enough to complete the SS effect, like at the very edge of the screen.
On a side note, here's the Ugliest screenine I've ever seen.
Blasters kill everything, usually before they get killed themselves. When it comes to dealing pain, a blaster has no equal. We just have a hard time taking our own medicine! So we love Tanks and 'fenders!

I agree with Sapphire, my main used to have TP but i respeced it out because 1, i already have Flight, and 2, it DOES suck up a lot of END. Flight is my favorite.
Though about ur END problom (personally i have never had that prob), i'd stick some Training Endurance Red enhances, and later slot some fly speeds when ur comfortable with the endurance. Otherwise, look up the Freebird enhanc set @ Wentworths, it helps w/ fly: speed, fly: endurance, and it has a special enhancement that can grant Stealth.
Good Luck

On my healer, i had tp, 3 slotted range 3 slotted end reduc, its really fun and helpful if your in a tight spot but..if you hit some lag your gonna fall and lose health, even worse if you land in a mob. Fly is fun because you can go anywhere no problem and because superman can fly XD.

Well, I forget the update, however, Fly got much love a bit ago. I don't use any End Redux in Fly anymore and never have any issues with it. So, Fly is now End friendly.
TP on the other hand, is still very End Hoggish and would need 2 End Red, especially for those long travel routes.
Actually, my Stone tank (35 today, yay!) has TP and only TP for a travel power. He has Time and Space Manip slotted, one End, one Range, both in the late 20s for lvl. Combined with Stamina 3 slotted with SOs, he can get around anywhere without endurance issues. To test it, I crossed Independence Port...twice... didn't pop a single blue or stop at all. By the time I got to the other end, I had about 5 end points to spare.
One thing about TP to remember is not to slot for end redux right away. If you think it in terms of distance traveled per end point spent (range/end) you get *much* better return for your slots by slotting range first. Range enhancements are on a different table than End Redux, and their value is higher (approx 40%, as opposed to 33%, if memory serves). Slotting End means you can teleport more times, but slotting Range means you won't *have* to teleport nearly as many times. Slot Range and you'll get from A to B faster with more endurance left over.
I only have end slotted because its part of the set, and only a matter of time before I decide to spend and slot the +stealth component.

Nice tip! It wasn't until I recently upgraded my memory that I could use the TP movement power. Laggy systems can really have problems with it. I really like it on the few toons I switched over.
Fly is still my all time fav. Come one folks...... we're FLYING!
Here's a little tip to make up for flight's slightly slower movement across the zones: Get some altitude, point the character in the right direction, set fly on auto and then send a tell to your faster compadres. They have to stop to type back, you don't! You just might beat them to the mission door!

I am no friend of TP.
It sucks up another power -hover- to use it savely.
Otherwise you drop down with every damn lag.
And if your not a tank, your dead if you drop into a mob.
IMO Tp is for Taxi-Defs, who want to have Recall friend anyway, and Stonetanks, because it's the only effective travelpower for them.
