I thought I would start an official likes/dislikes thread. I would like to know what everyone likes or doesn't while playing the default.
But for every negative thing you say you have to say a positive thing about it.
Here are some of mine:
1. Scenery is wonderful as usual
2. I like when in harder battles you get battle music (heavy drums)
3. I think the skills / attributes menu is a little too cluttered for me, I like the old interfaces better.
4. I preferred having bonus missions more than time bonuses in missions so don't like that they kept the factions way.
5. Paragon and Dervish are fun characters to play, unique and different that previous ones.
6. Creatures and monsters are interesting and its nice to see skales running around again!

I like the scenery (it's even a bit better than Prophecies scenery, and a BIG step up from Factions), I like the music, and the quests are a lot more interesting than in Factions or Prophecies. I don't like how cluttered the hero system makes the inventory and skill menus, though... That's probably my single biggest complaint about things so far. Also, I would have preferred if they had made a different system for the statues of the gods, and I REALLY would have liked it if they had brought back skill quests.

so far my only complaint is that i managed to crash it once...(though that was when everyone crashed)

I agree with first post on everything also like mentioned I wish they would bring back the quest/skill reward, and please don't do the bonuses like factions, sometimes I like having the time to enjoy and exlore the game, especially now with the Heroes, how the heck do they expect you to take care of you and the heroes and do the mission/bonus in 5 minutes :D
Aside from that, the game gets a 9.7 out of 10 from me :D

WTF are you talking about, the game is based in an African setting so what's wrong with African faces? I find your post offensive.

I like:
1) The awesome Scenary
2) My heroes ! Awww
3) The music is much better
4) I love the moving mouths and face improvements
5) The Terrain is so open now
6) 20x better than factions and 10x better than Prophecies!

I think you could find a better way to get your point across so as to not offend others. Maybe stating you would like to see more variety in faces to choose from. I don't personally find it offensive but I can see how others would.
One Swordsman: I think you could have gotten your response point across without the WTF, as well.
Responding to an offensive statement with such, isn't any more "politically" correct.
Back to topic, give us working folk some more of your thoughts on the PE!

Forgot a couple in my first post
1. I like the moving mouths its better than having a bunch of ventrilloquists (probably spelt wrong) running around.
2. Looking at the map I am scared it might be small from where I have been and how much map has been uncovered, I really loved the miles of terrain between places in Tyria.
3. Training was less annoying than in Factions (quicker to get through).

Great TOPIC!!!
Thus far I am very impressed with Nightfall. Here are a couple of my likes and dislikes.
My Likes:
1)I agree with you that changing to battle music in a difficult battle is a great feature, you definately feel like you are fighting.
2) The new profession dances are really nice
3) The new professions are fun to play with, they are put a lot of thought into their skills
4) The scenery and the cinematics are amazing
5) They made the character animations so they move their mouths when they are talking
6) The doors don't take as long to open as they did in factions (less waiting time)
7) The hands/ arms look more realistic when they are holding weapons
My dislikes:
1) There aren't many options for skin tone, hair color, face in character design
2)The timed missions vs. Bonus missions
Definately excited for the full release of the game :)

Overall I think its great. I haven't had any problems other than what you would expect out of an unfinished product. So for my likes I guess the whole thing and the only dislike was the wait to actually get the event going but everyone has problems from time to time and Anet I'm sure is allowed to have their share.
I'm neither here nor there but everywhere. I am who I am and nothing more but yet I'm nothing less than what I strive to be.

Ever since Factions came out I DISPISE the pop up text window when an NPC is talking to you and how it dings in to block your entire view. It's ridiculous.
I HATE how it took a year and a half to load a cinematic then another year and a half to load the place you were going to after the cinematic only to be greeted by yet another cinematic.
Yeah cool their mouths move now but please don't rape me with cinematics that take a year to load and last 20 seconds.
Yet again the way they show you everything at the start of the game isn't giving credit to the average gamer.
"Open your inventory by pressing 'I' if you havn't guessed already the inventory is where all of your items are. We don't expect you to figure it out on your own or know the definition of inventory. So we'll hold your hand."
I stopped playing once it crashed; which was also ridiculous. I didn't even get to attempt anything before the game frustraited me so much that I wanted to stop playing for a bit (and the hot girl accross the street called me...).
The Dervish guys wear skirts.... Not Kilt's that look cool... they're wearing skirts.
The environments are decent although I don't care too much about look on a game (see Dead to Rights) so once you get passed the graphics Nightfall reminds me a lot of Factions.
When you get quests that are as simplistic as "quiz the guards" or "take a piss in a lake" (that was a joke one) the game becomes boring.
So yes so far I have found nightfall boring. Oh and it crashes when you the little " 1 " button beside the hero's name.

It is a tutorial for the people who have never played this type of game before. You can actually skip the tutorial and go straight to the first outpost............

Where have you been for the last 2 months? There has been screenshots of the male Dervish armor on Guildwars.com. I guess you missed it.

Since you said the game crashed right away it seems you must have not gotten any farther into the game than this quest.

Beautiful scenery, bright, colourful and vibrant.
Great atmosphere.
Genius ideas.
Huge map.
1 thing that's killing it is the loading times (but I know that's nothing to do with the atual game :P)

hit F11, then interface tab, and check "dialogue 1" and "dialogue 2" off

It drove me nuts too, all you have to get rid of is dialog box 1 & 2 I think and no more annoying bing "Hello" bing "How Are You?" bing .. bing .. bing.

I have to agree with most of the posts.
I love the new music during battles, I like how the characters' mouths move during cinematics, and the new professions seem great.
Moving the attributes in with the skills does make more sense then where they used to be. Attributes directly affect your skills, so why should they be in a menu with you faction points and titles? In my opinion they should just remove the skill bar that they added there to make it a little less cluttered.
All the new stuff is great, but will we ever get some things that we have been asking for since the beginning? A better grouping system, an auction house, or fun stuff like hair dressers and casual clothes?
Nightfall looks great so far, but hopefully we still see some more improvements.

I would like to add that they are dressed with "Skirts" because they are, well, Dervishes. For info on Dervishes see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dervish

Likes
1 - The music change to a more dramatic tune when the battle erupts. We deserved this for so long..
2 -The 2 new professions
3 - 2 words: HERO SYSTEM (I just hope there can be heroes from all classes)
4 - Landscapes, moving mouths and beatutiful African faces.
Dislikes:
1- Paragon white armor. The dyable part of the armor should be biggest white portion of it, not the tiny ornaments, these should remain gold for the "angelica aura" intended. When the game comes out, we all will look the same./sad
2 - The Elonian male necros are too scary (LOL)
3 - The return of the "Lets rap3 the monk" monster AI.
4 - The return of "NPCs get cooler armor" fashion, just look at the sunspear armor and winged helm.

Oh man, so much to say but i'll keep it short.
1. The new hero system
2. the new classses
3. The music
4. The IMMENSE variety of quests
5. The new skills
The only thing i don't like is that you have to customize hero's, not just grab henchies, then outfit em, and go.
And I have a question for all you amp'ers out there,

What the saji likes...
-Once again, the music is worth buying the soundtrack for, as i would expect Jeremy Soule :)
-The scenery has nice transitions and is beautiful.
-The NPCs now actually move their mouths when they talk during scenes :)
-I can kill a flamingo :D
-The hero system is a big step
-the mini giant pet makes a wierd/cool noise sometimes
-We can use the dmg +20 vs plants mod :)
what the saji doesn't like...
-i got a black dye from the "To Dye for" quest, which means i might not get it again when i have to redo it :(
-Linux can't play Guild Wars (someone needs to work on a port so i can dump windows for good)
-I'm still waiting for my cheesecake of fortitude focus item :)

Though I have only really played it for two hours thus far. I have to say that I have nothing to complain about. I like everything about Nightfall thus far. The music is great. The scenery is gorguos. The Dervish and Paragon are great classes. I can't wait for October 27th. :)

I wasn't around when Factions first came out but it seems this game is being better recieved than Factions.
No game is perfect but I am glad most are giving positive points about the game as well as some dislikes. I am also happy people know the difference between problems with the game and problems with the event.
Hopefully Anet will have a look at all the forums and re-think things people were not completely happy with.
Keep your comments coming, would be cool to get as many opinions as we can.

This is not something i dont like, but an inprovement i think anet should use.
I think anet should make it so all the hair styles could be used on all the character and on all campaigns. Cause those from Factions (Asia In real) could also have the hair those from Africa have. And the other way round. Cause Those from africa can also have hair like those from Europe (prophecies) or what ever. It could be much more funnier with that inprovement. Then will the characters not look so identical. :D..
