I was wondering if a Fire//Empathy Controller would be any good?? Any ideas??

It should work out good. Fire and empathy are two of the old stanbys for controllers. Fire has good immobilize and holds and the pets can be a serious boost to your capabilities. Nothing like seeing a large group of fire imps take down an LT all by themselves. And of course Empathy is always in demand. Just make sure you put in your team listing window that you heal and you'll get invites all the time.

I actually started one of these, long, long ago. I only got her up to level 18 though. In the beginning levels, this is really a character that needs to be on a team. Otherwise leveling goes very slow. But I think that is the case with most controllers.
The emapthy does tend to help with getting on a team quicker.

Any combination of powers can be good, really. What really matters is the details of how you build and play the character.
Your fire/emp will be in great demand in the early levels if you concentrate more on your Empathy than on your Fire. You have to start with Healing Aura, which instantly makes you a must-have for a sewer team. Nobody will care which Fire power you took, as long as you spam them with heals. After that, take Heal Other and Ressurect as soon as you can.
On the Fire side, you want Char for your main hold. Put six slots on it and tweak it until it handles just how you like. The other early Fire powers are good, but they are only immobilize powers and not as important to build up. Don't bother with damage enhancements on any of the early Fire powers, though. Concentrate on recharge time, end reduction, hold and immobilize duration, range and accuracy.
As already mentiones, the Fire part of your build will be more important in the higher levels. Some of the middle powers, such as Smoke and Hot Feet, can be useful if you know how to use them. When you get to 32, your Imps will turn you into a minor diety. You can just set them loose to wreak havoc on the enemy while you turn your attention to healing your teammates. You'll definately want 6 slots on your Imps. This is the only Fire power I would reccomend you slot for damage.

I agree with Xeno on this one.
Another idea would be to put kinetics with fire, making you uber at the higher levels. IMHO, less powerful at early levels, but definitly more uber at the higher.
If you like fire, but want to be able to actually control a little better, then put storm as your secondary, it add great extra control.
