| Is a Sonic/Cold Corruptor a feasible idea? |
|
|
|
I have seen Sonic/Kin, Sonic/Sonic, Sonic/Dark, lots of combinations that I haven't tried.
However, I got to thinking that a cold secondary would mesh well with Sonic. Sonic lowers the enemy's resistance to damage over time, and Cold slows the enemy...Or does it?
I don't know exactly if the cold secondary slows enemies at all, is there a debuff in the set? Or is it all buffs.
The reason for my inquiry was that I have heard that Sonic is a good soloing set, but I also wanted a team friendly setup, being able to buff my teammates with the Cold would help give me a way to help the team.
However, I haven't really researched into it, I figured here would be a good place to ask.
I want to know if its a bad idea before I waste a few hours trying it out. Of course if noone answers I may try it ANYWAY, but...I digress.
Any advice or even a Sonic/?? combination that fits what I want to do better than cold would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Well Cold is pretty much just buffs (shields) and debuffs. The first power you'll get is a slow. It slows their runspeed and recharge rate, which is what a lot of the debuffs do in that set. I'd give it a try. It's pretty fun. As for sonic, I've had some friends who say it's great, and some who say it's bad. From what I've seen though, it doesn't look that "fun" to play.
The only sets I've found fun to play though are dark miasma, radiation emission, and kinetics. I made one of each type and got them all to lvl 5...then I just got really bored of them and ditched them.

Sonic is a fun set to play because of the number of control type powers it has as compared to the other primary sets. It has a knockback, sleep, and two disorients. What it lacks is firepower.
I have had a lot of fun leveling a fire/cold corruptor, the secondary really compliments the primary. Although, if you are looking to build a non-team buffing corruptor, IMHO the assault powers in the cold secondary don't compliment Sonic.
With the Sonic, I would select a secondary that better lowers an opponent's resistance or boosts your power to compensate for its lack of firepower.
Infernal Storm fire/energy/fire blaster
Cosmo Crush energy/energy/force blaster
and many more...

I'd say run with it and tell us how you think it is. That way, if you like it, you can always submit your build as a guide for all to see :)
