The necro armors are very extravagant aswell...

It seems to me that they are trying to balance between what we think of when we see necro or ele or warrior, etc. and new and original ideas..
For example in Prophecies the warrior armor came in many types like Gladiator, Knight, Plate, Ascalon, etc. which were all different types of warrior armor. Then by Factions the armor began to take a more stereotypical role where the warrior wore heavy layers of ornate plate (or chain in some parts) with some leather in between or just pretty much thick layers of animal skeletons (exoskeletons to be exact).
Elementalists on the other hand have regressed from the stereotypical Vivi style mage to armors that represent their elements. For example fire has wild patterns and designs, air (lightning) flows downward and has many pieces that jut out like lightning, and so forth.
So really it is a tough job because we all have an idea of what the armor for a class should look like and at the same time they have to generate new ideas for the armors that dont stray to far from what we come to accept.

just edit your last post instead of making new ones :)
I didn't play much of the NPE when I found out that we couldn't keep our characters...so I just made a Rit. with the 2nd extra slot I bought that I was gonna use for my Nightfall char. >_<

tribina can i just say the armors say they were added in prophercies. id just like to point that out so maybe you can change it.
btw nice job on getting some of the armors already. i was gonna get the materials for them but was told by someone in amp alliance not to cos they might change

I'm fully aware of that ;-) here are some facts:
1) only chapters I can choose from are Factions and Prophecies, waiting on 'the powers that be' to add Nightfall ;-)
2) If you go to Armors you'll notice Dervish and Paragon mini pics are not up yet..
Only there written name is there ;-) Soon the powers that be will add them ;-)
3) They are not PvE chars, but PvP chars
4) They are no GIF files no more but Jpeg files to improve quality
5) Overseer's and Templar's armors for Paragon are the same.. Guess A-net will change one of them eventually

thx tribina for pointing it out... i just thought it was a mistake...hopefully the powers that be will change it soon and add them so once the game comes out we can begin on continuing the best gw armor page on the internet

all i can say is, i am deleting my male ellie who is over 1 year old, wow @ that armor :P
on a side note, has anyone seen any male ellie armors? have they done anything for us male ellies?
AND... anyone seen the crafting mat list for armors???

It seems the main material for both classes are tanned hides. And the secondary for the two armors in game were cloth and iron for either Istani or Sunspear armor.

eh i didnt really see the point of getting armor for preview -but i did since im just keeping my paragon till i get the game.:P

From what I've been told the NPE characters are getting deleted...unless somethings changed in the past day.

correct, the characters are gone, only thing you have are whatever you unlocked (skills, weapon mods, etc)

UCCat - I think he says he is rich because his dervish was dyed black.
The new necros look absolutely horrible IMO.
