about the next halloween event i think its just going to be for nightfall players. nighfall comes out on the 27th what is a few days before halloween

I would hate it if it was only for nightfall characters. I might not be able to get nightfall right when it comes out, so I wouldnt be able to participate in the event just because of their timing with the game.

Do you have proof there will be one? I would be reluctant to assume there will be a hallowe'en event just because there was one last year. Remember, they dont HAVE to give us any event at all.

We'll maybe not only nightfall (forgot 3 days isnt fair for everyone to get it), Factions people should get the event too (if there is one), but NOT Tyria. If you havent bought any expansions yet I would have to say ANET owes you nothing. (not talking to you swordsy, just a general statement)

Well technically they don't have to give us anything except access to their game, what that game consists of is entirely up to Anet - it could be black dots moving across a white screen :P
The point I'm trying to make is, if they want us to keep interest in the game it is in their interests to keep things fresh and exciting.
And this can be applied to anything, not just halloween :P

Blah IMO that's a-load of crap, you still payed for the game, what if none of the other chapters appealed to ya? You're still a customer :), and each chapter is a standalone game, even more reason for Tyria not to be ignored :)

So, what your saying is I should get NO event ONLY because factions was PvP-based?(the whole reason I didnt get factions) That aint fair at all, if they want to intice people to continue playing their games, they should offer an even amount of events to everyone, regaurdless of the chapter(s) they have. For instance, though the double weekend events arnt that great, the ones(for example) that pertain to double scroll XP were throughout GW, not just in factions, whereas the double AvA were factions only because thats when they were added to the game. What they should do is offer some nice Halloween prizes, or extra bonuses for those who get nightfall before halloween. Then just have a regular holiday event for the other continents.
All this though is based on the illusion that we are having a halloween event, therefore if we arnt, then I dont care what they do :P

just becus you like to play in tyria it dosnt mean u dont have factions factions have had ALL the events since it was relesed. i say its time for a big old tyria event to honor the ppl who made the other campagns possible in the first place

Exactly, you bought the game. You can play every aspect of the game that you have bought. Last time I checked, the box for Guild Wars did not say the game included free events for holidays. ANET has never promised us any events on any of their boxes. Events are a bonus for us, a way for them to say "thank you" for continuing to contribute to their company (buying new expansions). By not buying an expansion, there is no reason for them to say "thank you" to you. It is as simple as that.

But surely one of the major points of Online Role-Playing Games is to have a living, breathing, and constantly changing world?
Guild Wars campaigns are not expansions, they are separate from each other...
...and, Anet should be thanking me for buying Prophecies in the first place lol!

To be honest, don't get your hopes up, because since Nightfall is coming out on the 27th, they might be way too busy with the preparations and the game, think about it if there was a huge exploit in PVP or PVE (like that one with the runes)and they had to roll the servers back or something like that, that would be a huge loss, also I think people will be too focused on the new game that they won't even care about any events.
Well, like everyone says... just my 2 cents :D

Trust me, they dont want you to continue to play Chapter 1 because it doesnt bring any new money into the company, they want you to buy new chapters which brings money into the company. Events, like I said above, are a "thank you". They are also an incentive for people to buy new chapters. Its all about making money. That is how things are done in America. We have what is called "Capitalism", and to make money you have to do things like this.

First and foremost, no need to get sarcastic and arsey ^^
I don't see why they wouldn't 'thank' the Prophecies players with an event? Last I looked they payed for the game too.
And if they really wanted the Prophecies only characters to try another chapter, they would treat them nicely, not leave them completely high and dry ^^

LOL this is hilarious. A-net has not even annouced it is/isn't doing a Halloween event and we are already complaining about it. Let me try one
I know Chapter 4 hasn't been released yet but do you think they will have skills for Ritualists and Assasins.
I mean come on people give Anet a chance to make an annoucement BEFORE you start to complain about how YOU THINK they are going to manage it. This truly does crack me up.

Halloween blows anyway. (yes I am one of the few people who hates halloween)
I'd like to point something out before people go any further complaining about who should get an event and who shouldn't.
Keep in mind fresh players are buying Prophecies still. Which means they still have a lot of new people coming in and out of Guild wars. Don't believe me? Visit Pre searing for a couple hours and see how manu people say
"I just bought this game; where do I get my boots?"
"How do I make my character dance"
"What's that deer thingy?"
"Seth you're so secksey can I have your babies?" (yes the last one is a joke)
I think they should just not do events at all just to spite all of you :D

hahaa. my friends and countrymen join me in nothing getting nightfall until they go on sale it is basically the same as prophecy except for new monster, and skills.
If anet think they don't owe us, well to remind them we are their bread and butter just don't buy the game.
