I found out about this yesterday. There's going to be a new Halo game and it's apparantly going to be an RTS. It will be made by Ensemble Studios, the same people who did "Age of the Empires". I am so looking forward to another Halo goodness ^^. My only gripe is that it will only be on XBoX 360. I do hope they also make it for the P.C. Anyway, here's the website. But personally, I was hoping for another FPS Halo. :l I hope they still have that planned.

I know what you mean. I'm not planning on shelling out more money for games. My PC is the only thing I need right now, lol. But yeah, eventually... when Halo 3 comes out, I'll probably going to buy a 360.

Actually I hate Microsoft for this. You see I was tracking a fan-mod creation called Halogen which was a total conversion mod for Command and Conquer: Generals for several years. Unfortunately it seems that Microsoft waited many years (3 years to be exact) to pursue legal action against the modders and shut down the project before it ever made a public beta release. There are videos of the progress they did make floating around, and I died a little bit inside for never being able to play the mod.
As for Microsoft if they don't put this on PC I don't think it will do well. RTSs are just meant to be played with mouse/keyboard. Ensemble Studios produces the Age of Mythology series so I'm sure they are capable of making a good game for PC, but for consoles I'm not so sure.

I was actually following up on Halogen too. They already had rendered skins and stuff for that mod but when Ensemble Studios started on making the game, they had to pull the plug on Halogen per Microsoft's request I believe. Too bad though, if only they had finished Halogen sooner, we might have seen how a fan mod Halo RTS would look like :( But yes, I have high expectations for Ensemble Studios. I really, really hope they also make a PC version ^^

yeah its going to be "halo wars" and "halo 3" but they are both going to be for Xbox 360 only it sucks! but my bro might get one then might get the halo games but wont let my brother and I play it =(

if it is being created to be played on xbox 360 i am sure it will be fine, it wont be like those that are made for pc then converted to consols

Of course they have it planned..... bungie.net (its called halo 3), it will be the last one in the serious, or atleast that is what bungie is saying, if their next series doesnt sell well im sure they will go back to halo for more games

Halo Wars is indeed looking very slick. first time I saw it I went: "WTF?!" Best thing off Halo Wars it's going to be developed by the guy's( and maybe girls) off Ensemble Studios (no need for extra info here). These people also made the very excellent BfME2 port into Xbox360 from pc. So what's to complain except for the waiting time :D
