Greetings Gameamp.
I don't relaly have a question this evening, but I do and would love to hear your opinions on the matter. In Prophecies we had Halloween and Winter's Day. In Factions, we had Day of the Tengu and teh Dragon Festival. And possiby in Nightfall, something to deal with the Scarrab Plauge.
Now here is what I want your opinion on. People are worried about with Nightfall coming out, that there isn't gonna be a repeat of the Mad King. Now they already have the Halloween patch for the land of Tyria. Instead of having to design possibly 4-6 editional towns, why not just have Halloween a Tyrian only holiday. Though my own opinion. I don't they to worry about doing anything additional, I loved the Halloween event last year. Though the other events was better with the feature they brought. It still remains to be my favorite event out of the 4 that has been present thus far.
So, what are your opnions on having it Tyria only? More orless is where I'm getting it. Halloween and Winter's Day. What do you guys think about continent only holiday's?

I've only got prophecies and I started too late so I missed the holiday events. Continent only holidays, um, sure..as long as each continent gets one at that event. I wish they'd have more events in Tyria. At least this way, if Cantha has an event, Tyria should get one too, so those that only have prophecies (like myself) would still get to participate..

Well, seeing as I started playing in December of last year, I missed the halloween event, but I have heard a good deal about it. I am very much hoping they do something for Halloween, however, I hope it isn't the same thing. Mainly concerning the items that you get, because it would mean that the items from the previous year are that much less rare. I like my candy cane bow, it's a novelty, I hope they change the prizes, even if everything else is the same.

Problem is that ppl tend to expect more now...
So I don't think haloween in just Tyria is gonna satisfy the gw community. Also, doing exactly the same in Tyria like last year (Big Fun it was!) is not going to be enough to satisfy the gw community also...
But as Anet doesn't have to do these events... I'll be happy with anything that comes along =]
Just hoping to get some time online when these events happen... missed winter in Tyria and both events in Cantha
:(

I'm hoping to see a halloween event this year as I missed out last year (gotta love mid-terms!!). I think that they should be a yearly event, just like they occur in real life. They already have all of the code and programming for the event so that should make it easier to hold these events. As for holiday being held in each game (Prophecies/Factions) I think that they should be exclusive to the game in which these events were held. Just like in realy life, not all countries celebrate the same holidays, that should hold true for the world of Guildwars. Game exclusive holidays helps to make it a bonus for owning all of the existing games. Overall I've been pretty impressed with the holiday events :)

At first I found em cool and interestinf but after about 1 hour i tend to get bored of em and just find myself completely ignoring the events and just getting mad at the long load times and huge lag. Also the novelty wears off the special items in like 2 seconds.

i loved the events, even from the celebrations at the end of the BWE's.
The tyrian holidays i think got a lot more attention because there was only one chapter the devs had to focus on,
with future events it will become increasingly hard to have unique events for all the chapters without having the events become like the weekend gimmicks now.
they should either move all the holidays and decorations to the GTB
or make it so that LA will still have a spectacular halloween party, and all chapters will have access to LA for only the event. (could also serve as an incentive for people who bought the lastest chapter to go and buy previous chapters)

Thats actually a great idea, use asian holiday's for Cantha as thats what its themed after, than christmas and such could be tyria only. Then of course have some egyptian-type holidays for nightfall.
