Names in LOTRO

I have read that there wil be some kind of naming restrictions. Personally I was hoping to play a human avatar called Norbert Scroggins lol
Does anyone know what naming restrictions will apply? Not that it will be a huge problem if the name is not acceptable, I was just wondering what will be and not be acceptable.
Hope someone can shed some light on this. BTW think it is a great idea to keep names in line with the world :-). No more XXX_super_uber_d00d_001..... lol :-)

RE: Names in LOTRO

I have heard a few of the restrictions. I know you can't have any names of the characters in the books, or names that are derived from them. I think I've also heard they won't allow numbers in your name (yay!!!).

I know they don't want you to get names from "modern times", but I'm not sure if they are going to block those kinds of names or just rely on the "name police" in the game to report them.

RE: Names in LOTRO

Just to expand on what thejeni said: as of fairly recently it has been said that the name filters will require character names to have one vowel within the first three letters and that names will have to be at least four letters in length... plus the naming conventions that thejeni mentioned. Otherwise, whatever your heart desires, so long as it isn't profane. I'm sure there will be members of the "name patrol" standing vigilant... there usually are. :P
