Dont worry, not the CoH servers. i just noticed this little message below the top cred holders cause i was bored and scrolling down. I thought i might push it up top where people will see it.
From The Shaman:| QUOTE | Tonight, starting at 12:50am, the servers will be going down for maintenance. We are upgrading our servers to bring you faster response times and to resolve a current known issue effecting "staying logged in" when you are load balanced to a different server.
This is the first step to correcting the issue but it should be the only hardware upgrade needed to the individual servers so we don't expect to have any more "down time".
We expect the outage to last less than an hour.

i hardly ever get the little pop up that says i have PMs.
wierd. although earlier this evening, i was getting it about 3 times per PM.

So that's what they're really doing with paired servers. This explains losing global chat, random graphics reloads, disconnects for no reason and many other bugs since they paired up the servers. Yet another thing that's different from what they told us.

As I heard it as they were setting it up, they were load balancing by having heroes and villains on separate servers, except in PvP zones.
If heroes in the same zone are shifting back and forth to keep each server in a pair equally loaded, witht the possibility that two heroes standing right next to each other and interacting could be on different servers, that could cause many of our recent problems with lag, missing messages, etc. The move itself could explain the disconnects, lost global lists, lost windows, etc.
This could also explain the Mastermind running hero missions, if he was moved from one server to the other as he began to load Breakout.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm still unable to access some of the other sites. I can't get the CoV site, the GW site, or the main Gameamp page. I haven't tried any of the others. Anyone else having that problem?

You are apparently not alone: [can't get in
I have the feeling the upgrade was not a full success. I can access all sites myself, but loading times are pretty bad. And I had several timeout errors.

LordXenophon probably got confused =P, the thread is called "Servers going down", and coincidentally theres a patch downloading for CoH atm, well at least for me. That.....or he's just insane.
