| Farming Faction <--> Nightfall |
|
|

I don't know if there will be any faction farming possible in Nightfall, but I highly doubt it..
So what will happen when Nightfall is released? What will happen with all those Faction Farming Guilds?
Will owning a town in PvE become a PvP matter?
PvP players that don't do elite missions?
Give this a sec to think about guys =)
Ballance might be interrupted bigtime here ;-)

Since there probably won't be town control in Nightfall, that part of the game will be absent... Faction farming guilds will probably shrink dramatically since people in them will want to explore the brave new world that will appear. Basically, I would suspect that there will still be faction farming going on, but that the amount to control any given town will drop dramatically.
Besides, the fact of the matter is that AvAs are still one of the most unpredictable and chaotic, and thus fun on a pick-up basis, in the game, so that avenue of Faction gain will still be used a lot.

From all of the articles that I've been reading lately, Nightfall will be stressing the PvE aspect of GW much like Prophecies did. So going with this and what we've seen in NPE compared to that of FPE there more than likely won't be any faction farming or city control.
I see this having different effects. The more than likely one is what NecroRebel above me posted. The other likely event I see happening is that the PvP oriented will charge through Nightfall and its 20 or so missions, and go right back to Factions and start up the faction farming again, untill good farming places become known to the majority of players. Then they'll just switch between faction farming and regular farming, and the balance will be corrected.

I doubt there will be any in Nightfall, since Town owning was kinda Faction's theme.
As for these top guilds, it's really a question of "Will anybody need to play Factions anymore?", just as Prophecies before Factions.

Yeah, I agree. It will still exist, but shrink down a ton. There are people who's personal preference will be Luxon/Kurzik armor over new armors, or people who want the titles. Maybe this will give some more average players a chance to experience town control.
Plus, there will still be Balthazar faction farming. Tough I'm sure this wasn't what you ment :)
Personally, I think town control was a horrible idea. It encourages insane farming to ever experience town control. Which is hypocritical to GW hourly statements asking you to take a break.
I don't mind huge farming for vanity armors, but to experience a part of a game takes away from what those who just causually play could experience.

I think that AvA will slow down but not that much because PVP people are going to want to do AvA with the two new professions but as for Faction Farming I think that is going to slow down a lot.
I don't think that they will have towns owned by Guilds in Nightfall

Welcome to the Fourms ^_^
I think FF will carry on but it wont be a big thing. Peolpe will want to do it for faction (titles) and xp. Gold isnt alot when you FF but soon adds up.
Nightfall i dont think will have Faction because it was based around Guild Wars Factions (Kurzick , Luxon).
But we never know ;]

Well there can be faction for any entity... be it a community (kurzik / luxon) or got (balthazar). Just because there isn't city control, doesn't meen there won't be some new type of faction or use for faction.
This thread seem to pertain most to kurzik/luxon faction farming.

I doubt it but maybe...
A group of Luxons and Kurzicks left for Elona to leave the feuding behind. Two towns (neightbouring of course) were formed and they lived peacefully until this new bad guy causes some trouble and ignites the feud once again.
It could be a fort aspenwood / jade quarry kind of level where both sides have a chance to attack and defend and it gives out more faction than FA and JQ.
Like I said I doubt it but who knows maybe they wanted to tie in the other games more. Might give new players a taste of Factions so they will go out and buy it too!

Welcome to GameAMP Natalie! I hope you will enjoy your stay here!
As for the faction; i do not think just like many others, that Nightfall won't have anything of a sort. Factions was about bringing two sides together in order to fight a common enemy. The theme in Nightfall (the gods) does not seem to imply any faction or side choosing.
Factions however will not bleed to death since a lot of players will not buy or have the oppertunity to buy it. Its will thinnen out (population) but will still be playable (well, except for unwaking waters, gayla hatchery and eternal forrest which do not hold many people for some reason). Armour, greens and farming areas will keep it alive.
On a personal note; i think that the absence of faction in Nightfall will bring the whole GW community together again. There will be no more need for unnecessary namecalling, flaming, insultments or such.
GuildWars will not spiral out of balance due to the absence of faction. It will just gain another meaning; the possibility to gain access to specific armours and greens (with the lack of 10k faction for either side, some bosses and thus greens stay locked)
just my two cents
necromancer all the way

gosh i hope so, Factions literally ripped our guild apart, and is just now recovering when the FF's finally decided they wasted enough time, energy and cash not gained and decided to play as a guild again. I personally dont really do PvP, but i really liked playing AB's, and hope there is something similar that will happen in nightfall, but i just cant find time to play them with the objectives i still want to meet in Factions.

Honestly, I would be surprised is anyone is still playing Factions after the release of Nightfall.....
I hear they are considering opening the doors in Factions permanently after nightfall is released, which would allow running and more flexibility as far as playing together.....
IE, I need help on Naphui.
Oh we want to help but we are still at Vizunah etc etc..
Although this is rumored in a lot of places I seriously doubt it is true.....
Wether it is or not however , I predict Factions will bec0ome VACANT after the release of Nightfall.
Who wants to play a glitchy, imbalanced, horridly ugly uninteresting game with henchies that have all had multiple portions of thier brains removed ?

Kinda makes me happy, town controlling was just a thing for guilds to show off.
I didn't liked that. Faction Farming will be kinda waste off time when Nightfall comes out.
