how to level as fast as possible

well i have one question for you. how should i level my lvl 10 troller as fast as possible?

General concensus on gameamp is that leveling too fast makes you miss much of the storyline and thus makes the game less fun.

However, that doesnt mean we dont know the methods.

Right now i would suggest you team with players about one or two levels above you, teams of about eight, and do the highest players missions. if the team moves fast enough through the missions it will level you quite quickly.

imo if this is your 1st time, take your time to play the game, learn how to play, enjoy the game, learn the zones, learn everything you need to. but enjoy it. its the journey not the destination.

but once you have done that and start making alts, you lvl as fast as possible, by the meathod stated above hehe

this char is an alt, i made him for the GAA but than i remembered how boring the first 20 levels are. thx for the help, but are there any bugs i can exploit or anything?

Ive never heard of any exploits in this game it is a well balanced game. what I would do is group with higher lvl players than you are.

Once you hit 15 you could go to bloody bay and do patrol missions. But that gets boring.

the best way to rake in XP is to just run missions with people a little higher than yourself. there really isnt any other surefire way to do it.

I've nver tried it, but I see guys that are like lvl 7 and 15 in PI all the time... personally, I think it's LAME - but hey, whatever. The high level missions in the 40s have so many bad guys in them and people move through them so much faster that you might be able to PL by getting SKed and having your SK do PI missions.

Heh, good luck finding anyone that will SK you though....

Ok First OF All,

This site DOES NOT, I repeat DOES NOT, allow the posting of ANY exploit, so if a member here posts about it, consider it deleted. If you know of an exploit, the only way you can discuss it is via PM, and you ARE NOT to even HINT that you know of any. On that note, we also discourage power leveling. However, if it's a completely free service (just because you like to do that for fun), you can send a PM about it also to any member on the site stating that you will help them out on that path.

As for the fastest ways to level, we need to know some info. What kind of troller are you? Do you like missions, or outside grinding? I ask because I have a friend that was a fire/fire troller and quite literrally with the build he had leveled from 10-16 in less than an hour outdoors in the hollows (condensed time, that doesn't include the running back to level up and gain new powers). What happened was this:

He took a small team (3-4) players, would jump in with hotfeet down, and use some power that killed mobs of 8-10 in about 2-5 seconds, while having his small team to take down stragelers. I'd have to find out the exact methods he used (I rarely see him since he works nights, and I sleep days), but if I do I will post how he did it exactly. He did this while in the Hollows BTW.

Last to recap. DO NOT POST ANYTHING CONCERNING THAT YOU POWER LEVEL OR ANY KIND OF EXPLOITS!

COX is my first and only MMO I've ever played, so I think might be in the dark about this subject. What are exploits? How are they different then PLing?

I know PLing is kinda cheap... but I've never thought of it as being.... (for lack of a better word) unethical?

Honestly, what are exploits and what is it about them that brings such a condemnation from the staff? I'm not asking to know any in the game, I just want to understand the idea behind them... perhaps give an example from another game?

sry for asking about the exploits, govtmorgue. I didnt know and it wont happen again.

im a Illusion/Kinetics troller. My strategy is find a baddy, confuse him, than pull another baddy to him and have them kill each other. I do get xp for doin damage to the mob also. I dont think its too ethical, but hey it works.

my power are
Illusion: Spectral Wounds, Blind, Deceive(confuse) and flash
Kinetics: Transfusion, Siphon Power, and Siphon Speed

I really wanna level this guy cuz i hate the low levels but after that i will slow down. the hunting idea does sound good cuz there are so many mobs in the hollows.

You're actually getting less XP when you charm your enemies. You get XP only for the damage you to, not for damage they do to each other. Carming powers are best used on foes who are likely to do something other than damage (such as a Tsoo Sorceror or Storm Shaman), mobs standing alone (in which case it acts like a placation), or when you're getting your butt handed to you.

There is another way to level quickly, though. The biggest XP award in the game is the mission bonus. Collect them as fast as you can. Run straight to the back of the mission and sack the boss. Ignore minions and just click glowies. Get all the prisoners freed. Don't waste time fighting anything you don't have to.

the biggest advantage of this method, other than the XP, is that you still get to experience all the content. You aren't missing out on anything at all. If you do those PI missions, you're missing out on all the low level storylines.

The main problem with this method is that you will use up all your missions, then have a few levels to grind before your new contacts will give you any. You can solve this problem just by teaming with a few other people who also like to head straight to the back and get their missions over with. You just have to find the other people who think that way.

An exploit is basically doing something that the game shouldn't be doing. It's a "glitch" in the games programming that makes getting XP or something at a rate of speed way way higher than it should normally be gotten. You could basically say that people were exploiting the game back when there were campers at the PvP zone hospitals that would take you out as soon as you exitted. The reason they are NOT allowed at the site is because they are illegal for the game also. I believe it's even somewhere in the EULA. That's why Brim. I don't know any other games that you can exploit, as I don't play any, and there are some old exploits from this game that can be listed (if I knew them, but I don't) as they have already been fixed.

Also Shock, no worries, I wasn't yelling, just stating our little policy here at GA.

And lol, I meant Fire/kinetics sorry

well i did what u said, Lord Xenophon i got from 10-12 in about 30 minutes. i used my free respec from i7 and changed my powers to

ILlusion: Blind, Spectral Wounds, Deceive, Superior Invis
Kinetics: Transufsion, Siphon Power, Siphon Speed
Fitness: Swift

i would also like to know if there are any mishes that are good for farming

how long does the synapse TF take, when i get to 15 i might do that a couple of times to get from 15-20

Frostfire and Atta are the best missions for farming at that level. They spawn large amounts of trolls, and they are abundant at that stage in the game.

people have already said this, but the fastest way to lvl is to sk to a higher lvl team. it doesnt even have to be much higher, but sking always yeilds more xp

Now to your question Shock,I usually run it like this,Level 1 Tutorial for badge,level 2-6 Sewers,6-10 Hollows or King row Police scanner missions.

The fastest way I ever leveld a toon was by getting a big team and jump down the sewer in Atlas.
The heavy spawning of enemies give you constant Xp.
Later you can do the same with the troll tunnels in the hollows.

But I never did that again, because blasting thu the level gives me no satisfaction at all.

Wed the 4th I started a new scrapper on Pinnacle. Last night he hit 22. That's with doing all radio missions after level 5, except for the Faultline arc, which I started at 17, took a break after finishing Penelope Yin's storyline and continued at 20 with Doc Delilah's, and then Agent G's. After that it was back to radio missions up till now. About 23 I'll start the striga arcs. That's the fastest way I know how to level, and it's not cheating, it's playing the game and getting all the content. I have to say I hate when I see low level toons in PI begging to be PL'd. Last week I logged into champion with my 50 Tank there and got inundated with PL requests. Why bother playing the game if you're going to cheat your way to 50? There's no point. Do your missions, when you get up into the mid twenties turn up your difficulty to rugged, and keep going. When you hit 35 it'll be like slamming into a brick wall anyway. Once you hit 40 it gets easier again. Just play the game and enjoy it.

I myself usually do as stated above, 1-5 Atlas contact, then from 5-15 Kings Row Radios and SG's you can sometimes get close to 5 bubbles out of a safe guard if you take the time to do all the side mish's and defeat all the hellions ans such in the mish, then usually i hit faultline cause i noticed they give a small amount of bonus xp for finishing the Story arcs, that usually gets me to like 18. I then radio to 20 hit Striga to 22 comeback to Faultline till 25 then hit Croatoa till 30 Croatoa also give a huge xp bonus for completing the Story Arcs.

Man, Im old...when I made a character...

1-5: Grind Atlas
6-10: Kings Row Missions
10-14: Perez Grind and SC Missions (maybe Boom Grind)
15-25: Sky and TI Missions
25-35: IP and TV Missions (plus Trial)
35-45: Brick, CF, and FF Missions
45+ : PI Missions

35 to 42..odd..was the long levels in the game (at least it felt that way). Even on my villain...when I hit the 30...SLAM! Brick wall. The levels of 1 to 20-something, fly by. Best thing you can do is group up on 2nd max level rep and blast away the missions. The reason I say 2nd because I think that increases the number of enemies (not just level...or something...I can never remember how the rep levels work).

One thing I did with my main was stealth all the missions to the end....take out what I needed and left. But when I got to 43-44 I had to grind because I ran out of missions (from the express mission).

Level 1-6: Sewers
Level 6-10: Hollows mishes
Level 10-15: Positron's TF (You'll probaly have to devote a whole day to this one)
Level 15-20: Synapse TF (I only have to do this once to hit lvl 20)
Level 20-25: Sister Psyche's TF
Level 25-27: Citadel's TF
Level 27-30: Croatoa Story Arcs
Level 30-32: Manticore's TF
Level 32-35: Brickstown and Founders Falls mishes
Level 35-36: Numina TF
Level 36-40: Founders Falls and Police Radio mishes
Level 40+: Peregrine Island mishes

It may take a while, but the results are good.

Wow, someone resurrected an old thread here!

I would say that the quickest way to level your character from 1-5 is to join an Atlas Park sewer team. The first 5 levels will fly by.

After that, hit Kings Row and do scanner & bank missions, either solo or with a team. Personally, I think solo is a bit quicker because you do not have the downtime associated with forming a team, waiting for everyone to get to the mission, finish selling, etc. The scanner missions are especially nice because they are always in the same zone, thus minimizing travel downtime made worse because you do not yet have a travel power!

After that, you can continue to do scanner missions, or choose to visit your contacts and get missions. If you go the 'contact' route, try to choose misisons that are part of a story arc. Story arcs give a nice bonus on completion, and the storylines are pretty interesting, too. You can have 2 story arcs going at the same time. Also, zone story arcs such as those in the Hollows, Faultline, Striga, and Croatoa, are very nice because, just like scanner missions, they all take place in that particular zone. IIRC, zone story arcs give a higher bonus as well.

I solved this problem real quick I NEVER power level anyone for any reason and I refuse to be on a team where there is a person being power leveled. To me this is akin to buying a game just to buy a cheat code book because the person is too damn lazy to think and play the game for what it was meant for.
