Cathedral of Pain is now LIVE!!

On the official COX site...Cathedral of Pain trial is now on the live servers (accessible for 7 days) until the 16th, then it will be 21 days before its accessible again. See the site for more details.

Oh the joy....I'm gonna see if i can get in it right now!!!

Yay! My whole purpose for being the base constructor is now fulfilled!

Well, my SG has no room for a vault... and we need another million prestege to get more room, sigh.

And we don't wanna get rid of our awesome teleporter room... so we'll just have to keep on grinding, and maybe in 21 days we can go for it then.

Dang - I hope the COP isn't as hard as the frickin' Eden trial is.. I've heard bad stories about that bad boy.

What's a VG?

And I thought teams could only consist of 8 peeps?

Oh, and I don't mind it being pathetic! I want an IoP!

Anyone know a lone player can raise a lot of prestege fast? I have a lot of people on my SG, but I was wondering if there are special ways of doing it.... is monkey island still a good way?

You can have up to 20 people in one trial, which is why you need the raid tp to do it.

If you have enough buffers/bubblers, or peeps with some high dmg output, it shouldn't be too hard. You just have to move quickly. It is timed (1hr), and you have to have enough people to split into groups cause there's three towers you have to take out before the door opens to the main IoP vault, and the final battle.

I went in solo, and got spanked early, and went in again on a team of 7 with a mix of high and low levels, and got spanked again, so it depends on what mix you have, if you don't have the numbers.

The way the trial is set up, you have a 7 day window to complete the trial, for as many IoP's as your base can hold. If you don't have a secure plot, with a secure vault, you will most likely only be able to hold 1 IoP in your base at a time. They drop randomly, and you can't sell them, so if its something you don't want, you have to wait three more weeks till it goes away before you can do the trial and get another one. If you happen to have the larger vault, you can get up to 5 of any one IoP. Two of them (don't know which ones off hand) are rare, so getting them means your SG/VG will be buffed very much for the three weeks. The others drop more frequently, and still do some nice things, but they may or may not affect your toon much.

After this 7 days, you get 21 days to enjoy the fruit of your labor, theoretically fending off raids from other SG's, but I'm not sure this aspect of the IoP's is available, cause last I read on the official forums, it wasn't set up that way on the test servers. Feel free to correct me if im wrong on this part.

This should be a good way to get your SG together for a night and do something fun together, and something the whole group can do, cause you can be any level to do it. If your SG isn't set up to do the trial, stick an alt in someone's SG who is and give it a go. Then you can see if it will be worth it for your SG to earn the prestige you need to make the base ready.

The CoP is a new SG trial that they have been teasing us with for a long while. It allows you to get an item of power for your SG base, and is an actually trail created for your whole SG to participate in.

I noticed something nifty yesterday while awaiting a team to form in PI. I was reading bios, and if you have an IoP in your SG, it is listed under your powers. They didn't take away any that were earned before the trial was shut down again, so those lucky bastards get to reap the benefits for a while, maybe longer than the 21 days??

Man, I tried twice to do the trial, and let me say if your team lacks communication skills (especially coordinating between the groups of 8) you will fail miserably. I say, since the trial is down for now, it would be in your best interest to practice working together as an SG, especially if you've been heavily recruiting lately. If you want practice fighting what's in the trial, head to the ShadowShard and do some mishes in there.

I hope it comes back soon, before interest wanes.
