powerleveling with a 55hp in droks

ive made myself a 55hp monk, just to be able to farm in UW as "the monk" too, instead of always necroing.

i heard from a friend that powerleveling in the trollcave right outside droknars was quit profitable. ive got some friends who need powerleveling on regular basis, and i kinda want to be able to help them out, plus it could be a usefull resource for money, too. ive tried some theories with a friend, and found out i needed him close (fighing, even??) to get him xp too. i mostly run past the aavicari mob there, but i think he wont get past it so he can close in on the trolls in te cave.

are there any 55hp-monks-powerlevelers out there who want to share their strategy with me? because i tried killing the aavicari mob, and failed.

It has been a while since I took my 55 to the troll cave but if you enter in the left entrance you shouldn't ahve any problems getting there. You will run across a mixture of avacaria and trolls on the way but it is a small group and a 55 should be able to take them out without any problems. Just make sure you have healing breeze up all of the time to counter the degen if you get it.

I have been interrupted before and that can hurt on occasion, but other than that take out the small group on the way to the left entrance and then whoever you bring along will be able to stay close to the action.

I would just say try it again and you will get the hang of killing that group on the way to the cave.

Just have your client stand well back and kill the Avicara. Group ALL the trolls in the cave and have the levelee hit them once with a longbow...maybe switching to make sure they get involved with all the mobs.
Then they can run off and wait for you to kill them.

Sometimes you don't need to hit the mob to get xp, sometimes you do...I've never quite worked out the trigger.

hmm i tried that once today, with an almost immediatly takeout. it wasnt the disruption that killed me, but rather the fact that i got too much enemies hitting me all at the same time. i think i can get rid of that problem though. how often do they disrupt?

okay, second question.

i use these skills:

1 protective spirit
2 healing breeze
3 shield of judgement
4 zealots fire
5 bonnettis defence
6 mending
7 spirit of balthazar
8 blessed aura

i need all of those, actually. but still id like to create a build inspired by this build, with ressurection possibilties. anyone suggestions?

me myself thought of replacing zealots with a ress-skill. but then again, that the only way i do really damage when SoJ recharges...

just a note....dont spam with zealots fire or it'll cause aggro scatter (aoe) so maybe take res insteaf of zealots fire if you want to be able to res who you're PL'ing.

as for the avrica just keep up bonettis as long as you can

That build is almost identical to what I use and I guess Zealot's fire is the best one to replace, but if I may, why do you need a rez skill. If the one you are leveling stays out of harms way you don't need to rez him. If he doesn't then he's an idiot. LOL. I would stick with what you have.

Side note do you go into battle with healing breeze up at the beginning? If not that will help you survive the initial onslaught of simultaneous attacks.

You either have to enter battle or stand within the aggro range of the trolls. My friend and I have both powerleveled at least 5 characters for eachother. We choose the stand in the aggro range of the trolls as it doesnt require us to attack them. Depending on what class is getting powerlvled, we sometimes help kill when they are a hit or 2 from dying.

The best way to kill avicara is to use an uninterruptable build The Ultimate Monk Farming Guide.(scroll down toYou can't interrupt me! 55 Monk.) This can take on the avicara with ease, as well as not having to worry about getting interrupted by the trolls.

Its a little slower than SoJ/Zealots, but its a lot safer because they cannot interrupt you and you dont have to worry about casting to fast, causing them to break aggro with you.

You can also(if you wish to use your current build) just rezone back to droks if Avicara are between the zone and the cave(which can happen fairly often) but if they arnt, it eliminates the need to change your build as well as having to kill them.

EDIT: As I said about standing in the aggro, for this to work you simply cant enter than leave aggro, you must be standing in the aggro when they die. It means you dont have to attack and risk them coming after you(rarely happens but depending on class it CAN happen), but the monk has to be more careful not to break aggro using zealots.

Sry I meant switch targets to hit one from each mob. Sometimes they need to do this other times they will get xp from miles away.

Ive found that a Wammo is far better for powerleveling than a 55hp monk. This is the order i find: W/Mo > spirit bonder > 55hp why?

W/Mo: uses various evasive stances to stop damage. Run into the avicara and draw them away so the powerlevelee can run to the cave then u sprint to break the aggro.

spirit bonder: no matter how much you get hit, you wont die. its that simple. Only problem is, avicara dont hit for enuff damage, so its possible to die there (and happens a lot)

55hp: if you aggro ~10, the +10 regen doesnt heal you enough, if you aggro 11, you run the risk of them spiking you (which happens almost every time)

Thats just simply wrong, I've taken up to 15 as 55. Even with 11 trolls, they have to hit you at the same millisecond to kill you(healing at 20 health a second means you heal 5 health in 1/4th of a second). Its often very easy for you to get a cast of PS or HB in before they can constantly keep spiking you(which can kill you), though if you do get a cast in, even at 10 health, its usually enough to A) Fully heal you, or B) Get your health high enough where you can go another few rounds of spiking without casting.

Besides, if you get killed at 55 HP, just take off your -50 offhand and put on a -20 offhand and go back. This will put you at 13 health, which I have taken up to 24 trolls at once without a problem at 13 health. 20 health a second means you heal for nearly half your health(5) in that same 1/4 second. so in half a second you can nearly fully heal yourself. This combined with being able to take 13 hits at once(as opposed to 11 with 55 health) means you can easily take more than a normal 55 can.

Often if I messup and die due to stupidity I can go back as 13HP and only mending at +4, and not even have to use healing breeze to kill them.

PS: If you get killed by 11 trolls as a 55 then perhaps you are doing something wrong.

K. Just to solve this problem .

You can powerlevel people at two places , Elonas Reach and Droknars Forge .
Wat you need is a 55hp mo/me(monk/mesmer)

armor - (i got standard Droknars taoos)
5- Sup. Runes - 2xHealing,Smiting,Devine,Protection

Weapons are standard :
A sword whit +20% enchantments and some defense or damage
and a grim chesta -50hp offhand item

-------------------------------------------------------

Skills are :

Healing Brezze
Protective Spirit
Shield of Judgment
Mantra of Resolve
Chaneling
Mending
Baltazars Spirit
Simbol op Wrath

NOW THE GUIDE :

Ok find a person that needs powerlevling and arranger the price . Tell him to bring his runes best is Heros Insight 10min-dubble experience . Ok now go outside of Droknars Forge and cast on your self mending and baltazars spirit .
And start runing .Before you will enter the cave there will be some of avricias before going in to kill them . Cast protective spirit on your self followed by healing brezze after that mantra of recall and go in wait for them to hit you fewe times so you get energy then cast chaneling and shield of judgment that should pretty much mostly damage them (!!!! Dont use simbol of wrath here!!!) When shield of judgment runs out just wait for it to recharge . Wont take that long . Before casting Shield of judgment again make sure you got protspirit and brezze up all times and mantra or resolve coverd then use shield of judgment and all of them will die . At this part person you powerlevel dosent get close. This part takes 1-2 min

Go to and run in to cave let the person stay litle behind put protspirit on yourself and start runing and agrro the trolls so they start hiting you .But before you stop use healing breze then cover it whit prot spirit again and use chaneling followed by mantra of resolve then wait for some hits and go use shield of judgment and then just keep covering brezze and prot spirit untill shield of judgment dosent run out . Then use Mantra of resolve again and restore shield of judgment but if first one did most of damage and that trolls are at relly low hp instead of waiting for it to recharge use simbol of wrath to finish them off . Remember not to use simbol of wrath when they have full hp cuz they will atacke person you powerleveling .
Well then just keep repeating this procedure thill you clear the cave .

1. more thing when you come out of the cave and go bit up you can see some groups of Giants run forward whit breze and prot spirit and you will find a chest .. Wich is there most of the time .. tho go for the chest only if you aint in a hurry otherwise i sugest you /resign and go in again.

Hope this helps altho its a bit long .

Oh yes this more i tryd W/MO and it turns out they are same . You just need to control them right way . But my choise is 55hp monk cuz it can adapt to enything .Also i seen some of you complain trolls hit you same time and you die .. Hoh well why you think there is devine favor . Even if you have breze on you and you takeing much of damage it wont heal it all up . If you see you hp going very low use healing breze becouse it will heal you for +72 hp from devine favor you can just expect for it to do it on its own .
Also i forgot attributes for the guide up there :

Smiting : 15 (or 16 if you can have)
Healing : 8(9 but 9 itsnt gona aprove it to much)
Devine : 9
Protection : 12
Inspiration : wats left goes here

Remember even if you have healing breze on you you got to use it every 5 seconds . cuz it dosent only give +7 regen but also heals you for 72 hp

For troll cave and that works great for powerleveling too , and you dont have to worry about to die , you can go again .

You put Physical Resistance , sympathetic visage , channeling and arcane echo followed by vengeful was khanhei when you go aggro , after echo vengeful was khanhei when is clicking the 1st one and vengeful when is clicking the echo one .

I am using a focus 20/20 restoration and a wand 10/10 or you can use wand 20/20 restoration too ,
with around 446 hp ( with major vigor )
and any armor but you can use the armor on the Build of
everdream , while holding a item + 10 armor
