This question is for the rogue experts out there.
I've played almost every class to the teens just to get a feel for them, and decided the the rogue was more my style. Last night I started fresh with a new human rogue that will be my main. I play on a PvE server and almost exclusively solo. What talents should I concentrate my points in more, or what is the best solo rogue build out there?

I would recommend going with the combat talents. Anything to boost your parrying, weapon damage, evasion, etc. I've played my Night Elf rogue up to 40 so far and for the most part he solos just fine. I would definatly go for the improved stealth though and get Vanish as soon as you are allowed. It has saved my butt on many an occasion, just don't run out of flash powder. :)

Ok so go for opportunity, imp ambush, imp eviserate, malice, imp gouge, imp backstab, percision, dual wield specialization, weapon expertise (If you have the points to get it), Murder, imp slice and dice (i love it).
If you would like something more comprehensive let me know.

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking about sticking mostly with the Combat Tree, but wasn't sure until now. I didn't want to get in my 20's and find out I messed things up already.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

combat tree FTW. best sheer DPS set. assassination gives nice bonuses, but combat boosts general DPS with some of the abilities, and you also get the evasion/parry bonus.

unless they changed it (have been 60 for over a year now) you get poisons at 20, and vanish aroundd 36 or 40ish. Dont remember exactly.

I'm thinking I got Vanish around 25 or so. I don't really remember since I'm lvl 41 now and feel like I've had it forever. I know that I did get it before 30 though.
A quick google says lvl 22.

Vanish is at level 22. I just got my rogue to 20, and I've been drooling over this skill for a while.
I don't know much about rogues, but going w/ the combat tree is a lot of fun. And there are some really nice talents in there.

The best solo rogue would be a versatile one.
As a human... it is your best interest to focus your build around Swords or maces. '
Take the combat tree.. knowing you need Imp SS, Parry, repost, Blade fury. These are some very nice PvE skills to have.
Sword rogues kill faster in PVE. They also do well in PvP
offhand weapon should always be fast... so there will bbe times a dagger is best
Skinng and Leather working are a good fit for a Rogue, allowing you to make your own armor, as well as collect hides to sell on AH for coin.
Also.. train in Guns, crossbows and Bows if you can.
Always use the best avaulabel to you of the three.
Great for pulling, nailing runners and helps in PvP
