Halloween and Wintersday

Has anyone heard anything as to whether or not they'll be having the Halloween and Wintersday celebrations again this year? And if so, if Factions and Nightfall will have them as well?

RE: Halloween and Wintersday

There will be a Halloween event. But the details on it has yet to be given. But there will be one. As for Winter's Day. That event is much more plausable. As it will be 2 months after the release of Nightfall. :)

As for which will have what. There has yet to be any details given on that aswell. Since Factions had Cantha only events. It would be plausable that it would be a Tyria only event. But we will find out in 19 days. :)

Halloween and wintersday should be tyrian. Thanksgiving sort of thing should be in elona.

Oneill: Lose it. It means, go crazy. Nuts. Bonzo. No longer in possession of one's faculties - three fries short of a happy meal - WACKO!

But you can't really do a Thank's Giving sort of event, as it is American only. Unless you play it off like the Dragon Festival was. xD

RE: Halloween and Wintersday

does it really matter if everyone celebrates a holiday? If they had a "throw babies into fire day" celebration, I would still show up...so long as they provide the babies (EDIT: and a burning infant helmet).

halloween and wintersday should almsot definetly make their return. after all, they already have all the stuff to do it saved somewhere. I just hope they make the hats look different, Dyeable pumpkins perhaps?

I also hope they add candycane weapons for all the new classes...my assassin isn't feeling particularly festive (or noobish) in battle

halloween and wintersday in cantha and elona would be itneresting, don't know how a dessert with snow would look. they could at very least make the battle islands all festive.

since i realize this rant is becomeing less oprganized on my part, i shall stop.

Well don't forget what they did with Tomb of the Primeval Kings...that's all sand and stuff and they did it up really nicely!

I just hope that the holidays that they have continue on. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have a festivity for the end of the Nightfall preview event so I was kind of wondering if they're getting bored or something with doing the extra goodies. I know it's got to take a ton of work to add the stuff in, but I think that it's those little things that makes Guild Wars great. You can keep all the green items in the world...I want the snowball fights and pumpkin head armour...and the Rice Wine...maaaan did Taluin get tanked off of that stuff...Drink about 20 at once...yeah...

RE: Halloween and Wintersday

I hope they do the xmas thing again; last year I missed it due to being on a stupid beach in stupid Oztrailia drinking beer with my stupid mates.... This year I hope I don't get dragged away from GW!

I think they should do a whole armour set at 0AL (Zero AL), that way I can take on even more stuff with my SB while looking like Santa!!

^_^

Thanks Giving - What's that?

/sarcasm

Is that the one where you celebrate the receiving of gifts from the Native Americans, before you forced them out of their land?

/endsarcasm

Nah, we don't celebrate it in UK / Europe.

Don't take too much offence to the sarcasm, they we're actually still British back then... and we have a history of exploiting natives.

"In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north."

So essentially...we give thanks for those natives that helped us spread our disease infested bodies across the lands as we widdled said natives into fenced in areas, and the Canadians give thanks for just having food. :-p

Funny enough, my girlfriend is Canadian, so I get to celebrate them both! ^_^

RE: Halloween and Wintersday

i duno how you've all got from soem dude askin if they've heard any news about a halloween / christmas guild wars event to a thanks giving debate. but anyway im english so what the heck!

i havent heard any news on there being a halloween event and definitly not a christmas one. there still is a few weeks till halloween so NCsoft will probably anounce it in a fort-night or so, my guesses are: 1. you can go trick-or-treating or sumut like that.
2. you can make your own halloween mask ( like guild cape).
3. all the necromancers will be going around showing off because they fit in with the 'scary' theme =P.
4. I NO THIS WOULD NEVER BE POSSIBLE BUT THEY SET THE GUILD WARS THEME TO - RAMMSTEIN : FIRE !!!!!!!! it would spice the halloween fact up a lil'bit i think !

anyway thats all i have to say !
