Well I had a lvl 25 gnome rogue and that was fun and i got to know a lot about the game but then i quit for about a year+, so i kinda forget pretty much everything i found out, should i start a mage or if not, what is a good starting profession?

If you played a mage before and you enjoyed it then I recommend you try it out again...if it turns out you don't like it anymore then try something else...the first few levels are pretty easily obtained anyway so it wouldn't be too bad.

Well the real question is why did you quit playing mage to begin with? Rogue and mage are hugely different, so for a change of pace that might be fun, but it is a lot different and I find rogue VERY hard to play after getting good at mage. If you want something similar to rogue I would go for a fury/arms warrior. If you want a total change of pace, go for mage. Something in the middle go for druid.
Thats my suggestion, but think about why you quit playing your mage in the first place, and if that doesnt bother you then go for it!
