Yeah, nice build. Can't go wrong with SS/Inv though, just take all the shields and grab the big money shots in SS and it's all gravy : )

I have a level 38 SS/Inv and find Hand Clap to be more useful than Hurl especially when teaming and taking on large mobs.
Hand clap can buy you those extra few seconds to retoggle, burn an inspiration, or redirect your attack.
Not sure about having Super Jump and Super Speed. SJ if used with a tapping motion will get you through things fast enough that the bad guys cant lock on and attack.
Now I cant wait to get into the 40's and grab some more powers.

Hmmm, I seem to have missed something when reviewing the build earlier...did you take the Energy resist shield? I didn't see it (I hope i'm not going blind). I would recommend grabbing that shield (one of the most underrated ones in the set). Not sure what your intentions are: PvP or PvE or both, but the Energy resist shield will really come in handy.

You know, I was never a fan of and doubt if I will ever become a fan of Hand Clap. I've seen it used and I just don't like the effect. You run in, Hand Clap and the entire mob is hurled right out of aggro range and are now spread out all over the place, Oh, all that and no damage done. Team wise, that is very annoying when you lay down like, Tar Patch and the Brute knocks the entire mob outside of it...lol (and they talk about the Energy set knockbacks...lol). I say, stick with Foot Stomp (which knocks the mob down, not back, and does a great deal of damage) as an opening, aggro, attention getter move, then follow up with the other attacks. The reason I say keep Hurl is for the runners, there are always runners, or even the one ranged foe in the mob that refuses to follow the program and come take his wooping like a man.
Just my 2 infamy worth ;}

I will agree with your handclap theory for team play up to a point BishopDon. First the Brute runs into the mob, draws his aggro, then handclaps the mob down making easier targets for the rest of the team. This works best if you are the only Brute on the team and are followed by Doms and Cors.
Soloing the Handclap is a much better tool.

Well I chose hurl over handclap for the reason BishopDon stated for taking out those pesky runners....
I decided to remove Tough Hide and replace it with Resist Energies.
You got me thinking...would having a 5.85% (3 SO's) defense to Lethal, Smash, Cold, Fire, Neg Energy, Energy, and Toxic be better then having 8.78% (3 SO's) resistance to Energy and Neg. Energy?
I say no as already having a great resistance and not so good defense...might as well make that great resistance even greater.
SS combined with SJ makes you extremely difficult to hit....also in PvE the SS has a stealth element to assist. (sadly not in PvP)
and yes BishopDon, I would say this build is for a combination of the two...pvp and pve.

I agree the build is good, and getting resist energies was a smart move, because EM mainly tanks in PvP, and if you plan to PvP you'll need it, especially if you come across me >:), any ways, if you do plan to pvp, i have some advice for you, instead of taking disruptor blast and blast spider pet, i'd take those 2 powers out, but keep the web hold, that's very helpful with those damn fliers, as well as take away tp foe, and get the fighting pool, for tough and weave, those help alot, even though your defense isnt that great dont pass up on getting weave, trust me it helps, my brute has no defense, and weave helped with that, and even though it wasnt much, it made me harder to hit.
And to answer Fireblades ?, those powers are from Mace Mastery (Black Scorpion), a very useful power set for brutes, especially in pvp.
Edit: also another hint for pvp, instead of getting both SJ and SS, just get one, i'd recommend SS for hasten mainly, and then get the Medicine Pool, for aid self, even though you alrdy have a heal, aid self will make you even harder to kill.
This will make you a tank in pvp, and you'll still kick ass in PvE as well.

You have to be level 40 to before you can select your Patron (Black Scorpion, Scirocco, Ghost Widow or Captain Mako). Then, after you complete a Story Arc for them, then you will be able to select from the Patron Pool, starting at level 41. There are 4 powers to choose from if you want to take them. The drawback is, in order to get the last 2 powers, you have to select at least one of the first 2 powers.

Another drawback that should be mentioned is once you select one of those pools, you can not select another. So be absulotely sure of which ones you want.
If your not sure which patron powers you want, check under the 'powers' section of the site. It will give you some good info on all the patron pool sets.
