Does anyone know if you can direct your spirits to attack a specific foe? There are times when my shadowsong is attacking someone far away instead of the war that is hacking away at me.
Thanks and +cred for any help.

Sorry, you both lose.
| QUOTE | Attack Spirits will automatically attack any creature within their aggro circle. If a target is already being attacked by an ally, the spirit will attack that target. Otherwise, if multiple targets are available, it is unclear which target it selected, although preference will be given to the target with the lowest Armor. If a creature in range drops below 50% health, the spirit will give preference to that creature even to the point of switching targets.
If attacked in melee by an enemy, Spirits will always attack that enemy to defend itself.
Unlike henchmen and pets, spirits will not react to a called target if you do not attack the target as well (i.e., in order to get the spirit to attack, you must use Ctrl-Space instead of Ctrl-Shift-Space). |
Straight from guildwiki. There is a way to make your spirits attack who you want them too, create them after you have started attacking something, they will attack who you are already attacking. However, once that foe is dead, guildwiki is not entirely clear on what happens. It seems, from that last quote, that if you call a target and actually attack it, the spirit will attack the called target too, but it won't if you just call without attacking. Can't test it right now though.

Yeah, recently I've been doing a Painful Bond/Wanderlust build with Pain, Shadowsong, Bloodsong, etc. I found that if I have an enemy targeted before I cast, they'll attack the same target regardless of other enemies.
But once they start attacking something, it's rare if they'll switch targets.

ive noticed while playing that my spirits dont attack unless i click on an enemy and attack it, if i dont, and i keep casting spirits, they just sit there...and they tend to attack who i attack....they sometimes though attack whoever poses a threat to them, such as an enemy closer than the one i am attacking

Alternatively don't give the spirits a choice as to which target they attack :P
I was doing scar eater farming runs the other day with a guildie. just me on an offensive spirit lord rit, and him as a fire nuker. We used the priest that's outside to heal us, as the nuker picked up aggro of the enemies around him then nuked them to high heaven whilst the priest healed him. When we got to kill the scar eater, we killed all surrounding enemies first, then I placed all my spirits around him so he couldn't move, cast painful bond, and waited for the nukes to drop in. It made for a very quick farming run, no assassin skills needed. Goot fun to body block with spirits ^^
