Ground Effect

I have seen an odd "slide" power and I have no idea what it is. The toons I have seen using it appear to be surfing and the power's display appears to be similar to super speed, and I have been looking at the power descriptions to try to figure out what it is. I have no idea, could anyone please tell me what it is? If this has been covered before, I apologize, I do not hit this board as often as I would like to.

This is call power slide and it is the same speed as sprint. It was a special power effect given to those that purchase the city of heroes box at a particular store.

Thank you, Swiss. I bought the "good vs evil" thing last week, I did not see anything like that. I saw the jump pack and the pocket d access card. I will look again.

Ps: The Justice costume parts are excellent.

I don't believe it was in the G v E edition. I think it was just for those that purchased the CoH from a particular store. I was trying to research, but didn't find anything yet.

I'm relatively confident that I read they were including all the "special" forms of Sprint with the G vs. E set. I'll have to check again, but I definitely remember seeing that somewhere.

You are thinking about the Veteran's Rewards. One of them (edit: 12 Month Veteran's Reward) is access to the "special" versions of Sprint. Power Slide is NOT included in that.

Yep...Just went and checked to see if I was seeing things. I realized it was something that I had read in the Veteran's Rewards write-up shortly after. Good thing you capitalized NOT, though. I'm sure I would've missed that word otherwise. Really nice... :P

I hate to break it to you but, "’City of Heroes Deluxe’ is the name given to the European edition of City of Heroes, which was released on February 4th 2005 and is still available from retailers across Europe. " Found on the Official EU Site. So if you don't mind playing the EU version on the EU servers, or you are lucky and are in that area, it shouldn't be a problem. Other wise it isn't good news at all.

Didnt this come with the DvD edition of the game?
I know you could or maybe still can get the power with the Hero Upgrade Kit from the NC Soft store, thats where I got mine. The kit also came with a unique cape design for heroes and villians. Also gets you one-month of game time.

Yes you are right about the DVD edition of COH. It gave you that power, special cape, and the V.I.P. badge. All wich transfered over to COV if you bought that game too.

The ruling Queen, Goddess of the Mutant Marine Corps on Virtue, Detra (Scrapper), has this Perk, and I had to ask her, when she joined over a year ago, how she got that power. It's all from the Disc that she got when she started. Looks cool and works great as a travel power from what I've seen.

um, i saw that and i was wondering, is the choice that we make between those run thingies a choice of just which effect we want or are they actually different? the words "dash" "dart" "run" and "sprint" etc dont exactly make them sound that different speedwise.....

But there KEWL fancy smanchy pantsy effects. You could dart at the speed of sprint.
