Jump Pack

I finally got the hang of running this jump pack yesterday. While using my pre-flight tank on Infinity, I was hovering a bit when I hit the jump pack and suddenly his hover speed increased to about flight speed. I was shocked. It only lasts 30 seconds and takes about 3 minutes to kick back in, but combined with Hover it was great.

It is good to hear that you got this trick working well. I wonder if that means once you get flight, if you can increase your flight speed for 30 seconds. It sounds like a nice "get away" power.

That it does. I've used it on my Kheldian with Energy Flight and it makes a BIG difference in the flight speed. It's great for those missions that are across a zone. Cuts the travel time WAY down.

I'm sure the speed "caps" at some point, but it was really nice.

Here's my findings: I used twoi toons who already fly. 1st one was my level 50 scrapper on triumph, Dragonflyy. He is 4 slotted on flight with an additional slot in "Quickness" for flight. With the jump pack on, no difference. Must be a cap.

Level 20 Scrapper on Triumph, Golden valkyrie. 3 Slotted in flight with DO's. No SO's yet. She had a major difference in flight speed with the jump pack turned on while flying.

So for a lower level toon it's a big boost. NOthing for a higher level.

Just tried it witha level 24 scrapper who has Combat jump and SS as his travel powers. Made a big difference in combat jump as well.

Excellent, good to know about the flight speed boost. I am going to see if the jump pack will allow me to finally make a superspeed only toon.

I'm curious about horizontal movement with Superspeed and JUST the jump pack.

I could test it with Onion since he has both Super Speed and Super Jump, but I don't feel like going ingame right now.

I love it. I can actually travel terra volta. Yes thats right Im a superspeeder and i can travel TV with SUPERSPEED

so i was just wondering, after the hype died down, is it really worth the 10 bucks for the ingame stuff? ive been debating, and i think im going to, but i just wanted to make sure it wasnt a dud.

I bought the in-game stuff for two reasons: 1) The Jump Jet is handy, especially at lower levels and, 2) The costumes. I want as many costume options as possible. The costumes were actually my primary reason. But I've gotten some decent use out of the jump pack on my lower toons. Getting over the wall in Perez is an example.

I would say, all things considered, I feel it was worth the $10. The Perez Wall was a GREAT example. That ALONE was worth the $10.
