I need help naming my characters

I'm not very creative, so if anybody could help me with
some names for males and females.

I would really appreciate it!

You could always make a "family". What I mean is, find a last name you like and use it for all your characters. Then you only have to think up the first name when you do a new character. First names are easier for me, so I do that.

As for first names.... you could always use "Consonant vowel consonant vowel consonant" I did that too...

Even have a name reserved for my dervish using the same format. Though I do plan to use Crimson for my NF ele's last name because there are no good names to use for an ele following my above format.

I have a definite trend in my character names. I wonder if you can guess it:

Sister of Oblivion
Sister of Thunder
Sister of Focus
Sister of Shackles
Sister of Hatred
Sister of Whispers
Sister of Vengeance
Sister of Pvp

...

I think this makes it much easier to come up with names, as I only have to think of 1 word per new character :P

hey i dunno if your still there but i renember this nerdy chinese kid showing me this name generator in ICT class, it was on a website called 'dungeons and dragons' i think and he sed its for naming his models o.0

it was pretty cool anyway , i'll try and get a link hang on..

Necro = Wraith Kiss
Mes = Equinox Kiss
Hammer Warrior = Crush Kiss
Ranger = Splinter Kiss

I use a website called 20,000 Names to get some names when I can't think of any. It's got some cool Greek names and stuff, check it out. ^^

Edit: Ooh, just noticed Arabian names, too, for a Nightfall character maybe? :)

Same. I go with the family thing. Its fun for me cause I get to think of random items to use :)

Abs of Doorknobs
Abs of Feces
Abs of Glass
Abs of Glue

The first and third characters are Tyrian and the second and fourth are Canthan. I will have two Elonian characters to add as well.

EDIT: Either way, don't touch the Abs.

The most common way to name characters is to have some form of common way to name them, for example having all characters having the same first or last name, having them all be named after an element, having them all be in a different (foreign) language, etc. My own characters are all named with a word or phrase that's respelled so that it sounds like a name (for example, "Amn Unk" is said the same way as "A Monk", "Wateryu Karezy" is said the same way as "What Are You Crazy," etc.).

Once you know how you're going to name your characters, it becomes MUCH easier to name later ones because you eliminate a great deal of randomness in it. I'd never name a character Bob, for example, because I wouldn't be able to fit it into any word or phrase. Using unusual formulas for making names also ensures that your names will be unique; it's extremely unusual for more than one person to use a name that you do if you're using weird stuff.

Having consistent ways of naming each character also helps other people recognize you ingame. If none of your characters are named anything like any of the others, people who recognize only one of your characters won't notice you, but if you have a common way of naming them, people will notice more.

Of course, random name generators can help with making a name to start with. Once you get a name style that you like, though, I'd suggest staying away from them a bit more than you might otherwise.

Try to stick to one theme. ^^ All of my girls have the last name of Sesshou, which means Bringer of Death. Then I try to fit my first names around that.

What I do is give my characters a first name that is normal, then a last name that it flows into or has a nice ring to it and says what they do such as:

Chris Crossbow (criss-cross with a bow)

Donovan Domination (there goes that nice ring, also DD)

Gordon Ghostspeaker (not really that good but meh, I tried)

Sho Gunner (I'm proud of this one, it says what he does and definately has a nice ring to it. He's a gunner and shoguns are Asian which he is kind of)

Boris Boulder/Tony Tundra (PvP eles I make...I delete one then make the other at times)

Unseen Mercenary (this one is irrelevant as I was just making something. I used to have Axel the Red in this spot as he used an axe and a Megaman X boss is named Axel the Red...and my guy had red armor)

I had always assumed it was some takeoff from the Inuyasha manga or anime, especially considering your forum name. Though I do remember reading that it meant something like death bringer or ender of life...

I ment nothing by it. Your way is just so Unique. ^^ And I liked what Sesshou ment, and I always liked Sakura, as it means Cherry Blossoms. So why not have Death Bringing Cherry Blossoms. ^^

with my charactors after the first two, i've gone along the more Necro-Rebel line of things, however i hadn't met him till he actually joined the guild =P

I have named most of my characters from my two favorite book serieses, Song of Ice and Fire and Wheel of Time. I wasn't able to find an unused LoTR name, and my paragon and dervish I've already come up with names for, but maybe my mes will come from LoTR.

I recently switched to a Guild named in Latin, so i decided to make a few new charactors with Latin names.

I just picked skills from GW at random and stuck them in a Latin translator, got some really good stuff outta it.

Might be worth a try if your feeling gimmicky.
