| slotting end redux for shields/armor? |
|
|
|
Just wondering if it is worth it to slot my brutes with an end. redux for shields/armor powers. Most of the powers use .13 end, and im not sure if it makes a big difference if i slot it with an end. redux. or if i should just slot with dam. resist/defense buff. thanks for your help.

My recommendation would be to use at least 1 End Red in each shield. Reason being, they do use Endurance just being toggled on. Now, add that usage to your attacks...
Hopefully by level 20-24 you would acquire Stamina, however, I would still keep a maximum of 1 End Red in each shield just to help mitigate the Endurance loss during battles.
I always slot 1 End Red in any power/shield that requires it to stay on (toggle) to be effective, even if the set is really End Friendly.

Slot an End Redux into any toggle you have on regularly. Also slot an End Redux into any Attack you use regularly in a straight chain (anything with a 6 second or less recharge, basically) and AoE attacks you have.
I slot most of my attacks 3 dam, 1 acc, 1 rech, 1 end. You actually get more mileage out of putting end redux into attacks than toggles, however slotting end redux into toggles reduces your downtime in between fights. With the Brute mantra of keep SMASHing, less downtime and less endurance used in the first place is always a good idea, especially if you want to keep that Fury bar maxed out.

well i dont know about fire, but u should 4-slot all ur shields for ur stone. You should put 3 def/Res and one End Redux. Now for Granite u should 6-slot 3 Defense and 3 Res. Than Stone Skin should be 3-slotted with Res. Finnally u should probably 6 slot rooted 3 health 1 end redux and 2 res.

I think it is defintely worthwhile to slot some EndRedux into shields, especially if they are shields you intend to leave running all the time such as your basic lethal/smash shield or your mez protection shield. Some of the others like fire and energy protection are more situational so EndRedux is not as important there IMO.
As someone mentioned, you will get more bang for your buck slotting an EndRedux or 2 into your attacks. I do this in the early, pre-Stamina game in order to keep my Brute rolling as fast as possible. Later, though, I tend to not have many slots available in my attacks for EndRedux since I usually slot my attacks with 2 ACC, 3 DAM, and 1 RCHG. If recharge isn't an issue, than an ENDREDUX in that attack is uaually money well-spent.

I'm of the "4 slots, 3 defense/1 end reduction" camp. Although you're not a tanker, you should have good shields to limit downtime and keep the fury bar up.

thanks guys for all your responses. See with my dark/fire brute, recharge and end is really not an issue with my primary powers, and with my stone/stone recharge and end is my biggest downfall. So far, my dark/fire is my best brute build by far, but i still enjoy smashing people with a giant stone mallet from time to time.

I don't even put endurances on mine. I just use 2 to 3 defence on them (depending on how common I find the damage to be). I usually put 2 or 3 slots on stamina when it comes to endurance on shields.
