i hate my parents, i missed all the events that happened after dragon festival(still have like 4 stacks of orbs), since i went to korea, and now, my dad deleted gw on my comp. and he took out the internet connection. and he wont get me nightfall until i get honor roll :P

From their perpective, I whole-heartedly agree.
To answer your question: if I had my grades on a decline, I expect some sort of consequence.
I have children of my own and their continued success is required to their having access to their gaming. :p

I have to agree. I've got a daughter myself and I would probably do the same thing. Of course, I'd have the additional motiviation of playing the games that she likes more than likely. ;-)
Work hard, do good, get rewarded. It doesn't seem like the grades pay off, but you'll find when you get to be...*sigh* our age...that it's worth it.

Yeah I would have to agree I have a 13 year and we just disconnected her internetdue to grade issues. As for your GW account just because it is deleted off your computer doesn't mean its gone. When you gardes get better you can reinstall log in and all you info will be the same. Your account information is stored by Anet and therefore it is not deleted unless your Dad went in and deleted the characters from the game.

My parents have put passwords on my computer and dissconected my internet before because I got crap marks in a couple o terms
Doesnt last long though cause I can pretty much get good marks at will :D

I remember back in the day when my mum used to take key components of my games machines (usually the adaptor, keyboard, or control pad) - but at the end of the day it almost always turned out to be for my benefit.
Although it may seem harsh, believe it or not your parents don't relish in punishing you, but do it for your own good - and if they sense improvement they'll more than likely let you have your stuff back in due time.
Work comes first - then play. And it'll only be a few more years until you can move-out and do whatever the hell you want anyway ^_^

you guys have it easy...i go to college and in my dorm internet games are blocked and i cant access...guildwars or anything from my room...so i have to walk 10 minutes away to a burger joint to sit down and play guild wars for 6 hours once or twice a week...well need less to say i get my work done for the most part which is good. But my room mate just got ff12 and i am enjoying watching him...By the way i go to a private Christian school. Well keep on studying!!

im staying home from school to play GW now =p nah kiddin , im staying home because i have to get my girlfriend to the hospital later this day , shes sick =(
anyway , i think cuttng of the internet is a bad way of ''motivating'' you for school.
if i cant be on the internet , im outside , playing football.
if they ground me , ill be watching tv
if they steal my tv , ill be sleeping.
school is for me , not for them , i know when i have to study and when not , and you cant force me to do it.
anyway , ill pass this year easy ^^

You may hate them now, but in a few years, you'll be thanking them.
If they didn't do that kind of thing, you'd go downhill until you get to the point where nobody's there to help you.

Study, than play if theres time.
Get ya studing done first, you'll have a better future, also is you play gw all the times, you might get carpeltunnel thingie. (My dad has it.)

having your own cokmp on wireless net is good...theres not a chance ill ever lose my comp short of my dad smashing it up lol

A good idea is for most days to just spread a few school books and papers around you and have some research minimized and bring it up every now and then for the benefit of your parents :D (It works!)

i go to college and do intro to it and comp this course is fairly easy so i dont need to study but when the time comes i shall you should study when you can also your gw account cant get deleted so dont worry bout that :D
and it must be weird playing gw wit your parents/children i mean just the thought of my mom playing gw is scary if you ask me pfft old peeps these days :D

Heh, my folks never bothered trying to punish me for my grades (and they ranged from F to A++). As long as I ended the year with passing grades I was good. I think I only actually failed 2 classes: Model UN (Class offered in a School in Germany for Military Families) and 11th Grade English. Model UN because I could NOT do the weekly assignment...write a summary of a newspaper article about the country chosen. Lucky me, I chose a country NOT in the papers. Missed going to the Hague (United Nations) in the Netherlands. 11th Grade English...REAAAAAALLY boring English teacher who didn't understand my writing :p
Haven't hit any colleges yet, though when I do it'll probably be for DeVry's Game Programming Bachelor's Program.
If Death takes me now I shall not fear, for I have lived and life is good.

I'm getting an average of B per class now. I'm 14 and i always do my homework before going on the computer ^^So i don't see why ppl have their grades decline unless they're super addicted to Guildwars.

You know...they call games things like EverCrack and World of Warcrack for a reason. Heck, I took a weekend and dropped 40 hours into GW at a time. It's easy to do.
From a teenage perspective, yeah, it sucks, because you don't get to do the fun things even after you get the work done until the grades come up. And yeah, I remember there being insane amounts of homework at one given time. And the whole "Study one hour per day- per class" bit is a bunch of crap since even as an adult I hardly ever put in a 14-16 hour day.
But in the end, if you get your grades up, do the homework when you get home and get it out of the way, you've got the rest of the night to play. And the weekend. Heck, with that you could probably get at least 30-40 hours a week in GW. Is that so bad?

all my parents want me to do is get passing grades in most classes, and do work as good/hard as i can. i dont have very strict parents which is cool, but i sure dont abuse it and take it thankfully.

Sorry to hear that, but as everyone said before its probably in your best interest. If you need help with hw or studying or something, i dont know what classes your taking but im in 11th grade and do pretty well in school, so if you need help pm me and ill try to help out. im sure youll be back in GW in no time
