I think Nightfall if you wanna enjoy the game long, but Factions is perfect for PvP ppl.
Im a real PvE and i didnt like Factions alot, and i love nightfall now :D

im biased towards nightfall as its new but both are good, if u want pve go for nightfall tho as its more interesting than the factions :)
however pvp factions is very good as thats what its name really means
on the otherhand if ure planning on eventually playing all 3 i would play them in order myself cuz 1. it makes more sense and 2. i might be dissappointed by factions after playing nightfall. but thats me:) i have a friend who went proph -> nightfall and loves it :)

I would suggest Nightfall, not because Factions is substandard because I enjoy that area as well, but because of the crowd. Even though you have customizable henches in Nightfall the majority of players are there. Example, last night I needed to cap WoH for my second account for the hench monks to use, I went to Thirsty River to find only 4 people in the town at 7pm central. The majority of people I believe are in Nightfall, buy that one.

i think nightfall.factions started to fast with power lvling,and the last mission to get to the main land was to hard.i havent played nightfall yet but is must be better from what i have hearth

I'd say Nightfall. Definitely. Mindblowing environment and a ton and ton of quests to complete :) You really can't even have enough of this game. There's always something to do.

They are all great games but Nightfall is a little better, I loved Factions a lot because of the war between the Factions. But it is a more PvP-based game and Nightfall PvE-based due to the 2 diffrent design teams

If you care a lot for the story, take factions, cause in nightfall there are a lot references to factions storyline.
If you don't, go for nightfall =D

I agree with everyone else. If you liked the story line and PvE, get Nightfall. If you finished Proph just to finish it, but enjoy PvP more, go Factions. I myself like NF more than Factions, but then I am a PvE'er...I didn't like Factions as much because the story was too lacking for me..hard to really explain. Fighting around in a city was kinda cool, but I enjoyed the outdoor scenery more. Also keep in mind what characters you would really like to play next..Rit/Sin or Derv/Para...that may help you decide too.

I'm mainly PvE and loved both and if I had to choose one or the other to have I'm not sure which I like best as each has its own flavor.

like many ppl have said, if u like PvP go Factions and for PvE go NF. But IMO Factions has better proffessions. i just like the rit and sin more than the derv and paragon even though my main character is a derv. but really pick whatever you want

Although ANet wanted to try something different from Prophecies with Factions, I think they could have kept the Prophecies spirit going in NF.
Personally, I think GW:NF > GW:F, but GW:P > GW:NF definetely.

factions is good but what i dont like is the intro of Presearing island, which is good to ahve friends hang out with low lvls, but i still think it should be seperate. also Factions gave us locked doors (ty for killing runners BTW anet). i like NF better because its a lot mor PvE and it also built upon some builds (RaO > old bunny thump) (R/P CG> old CG)
i think prophecies is best because:
A) you can run
B) its HUGE
C) its the first and original
D) presearing
E) ToA
F) taught us that you dont need costly monthly fees to play, enjoy and have fun with a game
im still looking forward to chapter 4 and hope it is in the jungle, but with less mezz. or in the north with less golems. either way, plz get rid of gates Anet. PLZ

I like Factions more, still trying to get into Nightfall and looks quite good but my favourite character is the assassin and you can only get assassins from Factions.
The quickest way to a man's heart really is through his stomach, because then you don't have to chop through that pesky rib cage.

IMHO Nightfall > Prophecies > Minesweeper > Factions. But I'm PvE and I don't like the constant grind that was so everyday in Factions.
Though the Kurzick armors look better than most elonians (and I don't like the new insigna armor system), but that's the only pro Factions holds for me.

I'm not sure why Faction gets the PvP label other than they introduced a new PvP battle (alliance battles). I very rarely play PvP cause it just doesn't appeal to me and I loved Factions even better than Prophecies. I mean Prophecies is the only one of the three that forces you to PvP (when leaving presearing). Anyway just check them both out with trial codes and see which you like best from that. Its always best to form your own opinion from trying it than just relying only on others. If you need a trial code for either just let me know I still got a couple laying around here somewhere I can let you have.

The challenge missions, and Fort Aspenwood/Jade Quarry. And the fact that the alliance battles greatly influence PvE gameplay. And the fact the PvE part is kinda "okay, here's a place, with stories, but you will just rush through it to unlock skills and items so you can pvp".

True those things are in there but your not forced to do any of them and the Alliance never messed with my gaming as I could just go over to the other faction and work on my quests and missions over there and only the PvPers would rush through unless their one that didn't like the story which there are a lot of people that also enjoyed the story (which is why I say try them both and pick for yourself). True you have to grind faction points to move on with the missions on Factions but you also have to grind for sunspear points to move on in Nightfall. Of course coming from my gaming style as a PvE player I still think they are all three great for PvEing. IMO

I never had to grind for sunspear points in Elona. I just progressed with the story, did some of the sidequests in Istani, and always talked with the sunspear scouts.
And in Factions, you also have to grind for just progressing. Most missions are grind, most quests are grind. Yes, you have to fight monsters in Nightfall and in Prophecies too, but just think of Zen Daijun and Vizunah, the second and third missions... And you're even "forced" to do it fast because of the mission system...

IMO, Factions > Nightfall.
I'm not interested in the story as I was with Prophecies and Factions; and the Realm of Torment (not to mention DoA) is sort of overpowered.
I'm foremost and always will be a PvE-based player but the best form of PvP (well that got me into PvP) was Alliance Battles - which made it really fun. The Heroes system is good but some Skills can't be used by Heroes (i.e. BiP).
I'm not saying Nightfall is bad, I just prefer Factions more.

I'm not sure how you didn't grind unless you cleared the whole area as you done each quest but I also know its different for each playing style as for I done every quest along the way and still had to go out and grind to get my sunspear points to progress. I never noticed any grind besides the grind to get the 10000 faction points in Factions but thats how it was for me which is not everyone. The missions is only for the masters, but you also have a mission in Nightfall that requires you to do it in a certain time to get the masters. But even so its not forced, cause the story doesn't require you to master each mission to go on. I never really had any problem with that and I henched my way. Its all in how you play as if its a grind or not. From myself playing both I haven't noticed more of a grind in either game. But each person has their own experience when they play based on their personal gaming style and what they like and what they don't. IMO thats why I suggest trying them both then buy which ever one you like from that.
