Gaile only posts on elite fansites, which status we haven't attained yet, but what she has to say is important that everyone gets to see, so i thought i'd go ahead and post it here.

We've been getting reports all day. Support has, too. And just about every one of them has, upon investigation, proved to be true. The players who made the poor choices are being blocked as quickly as the team can block them, and that's a shame. For a five second thrill of immature and antisocial behavior, those players are missing the rest of the event. Good call, Bozo Brains!
So the good news is, the event is a tremendous success, the biggest and most well-attended yet! The bad news is that a few people are cooling their heels outside the game, based solely and exclusively on their own poor choices.
Oh, wait... that's bad news?
I guess overall, this is a good news / better news message for the vast majority who are having great fun with us, and with each other, on this wonderful Halloween. As a player, I appreciate the entire team's efforts to create this magical occasion, and the help of others in keeping the game pleasant for the majority of players. As a community manager, I truly hope and pray that those booted this time will step back, think about it, and make better choices in the future.

Great catch Rogue, +cred.
I fully agree with Gaile on this. The level of immaturity this weekend made me turn off Global Chat altogether.

we cant get cause amp has sites for different games and in the regs for becomnig an elite fansite is that its gw only...is i know that guru has sites for otehr gaems as well but theres some loop hole that they got...

I too was getting pretty angry at people this event, mainly today when the king was there. There was way too much 'Get the ---- out of here and give me my ----ing hat.' People were cursing the king like crazy, it was incredibly ridiculous.

Great find Rogue. I'm glad to see something is getting done about this. I have reported several people myself. Alot of it started when the event started on the 27th. Really is a shame, that people have to stoop that low.

It was really disappointing to see all of that going on. Especially when you compare to last year, I don't think I saw nearly the amount of foul language and whatnot in GWH05.
Unfortunately, this was my girlfriend's first year at the event, needless to say, she was not very impressed. I was reading the original thread that Gaile had posted, and I noticed one person saying "What's the big deal? There's filters so people can't see the words."
Unfortunately it doesn't matter...kids hear those words everyday, and if they're old enough to spell, they can figure it out.
Not to mention that it's just unchivalrous...if that's a word. And yeah, I'm old fashioned, I don't like swearing in front of the ladies. :-p

I started playing GW in February, so last night was my first halloween event. Got hats and loads of booze for my characters, and enjoyed the sillyness of it all....having 'all' chat turned off helped though, as I got annoyed with the amount of 'click on king/don't click on king' comments. When they have these events, why dont they make the main stars (mad king, emperor etc) non-clickable so we don't have all this rubbish?

good find.
about the abuse, even with the chat turned off the words still pop up above the heads of the characters. i ended up with emotes and local chat turned off as i couldnt see what my guild were talking about with all the spam that was going on.. /pickme you only have to type in /laugh once at the right time or it to work you dnt have to type it 20 times per joke..
all in all tho i did enjoy the event, i also managed to get the pumpkin in LA then quickly port to kamadan and made it in time to do the madking says game and got my witches hat too. :) so if ure fast and cleaver enough u can play the last game twice (which gives most of the items) so i did this 2 times in a row and ended up with shed loads of stuff :) (twice as much as most people doing it 1 time every 3 hours lol)
