Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

Was just wondering if anyone knew where the skills trainers are in Nightfall?
I am past The Sunspear Sanctuary and know of the guy just outside, but where are the rest?
I am a bit tired of the same skills and would have thought there would be a skills trainer with better skills!
I feel like im using noob skills still lol.
I am on to the 4th mission on the mainland and have explored almost 40% of map so far...so does anyone know?
You know what I mean tho....skills trainer like at Senji's Corner in Factions...where they have some different skills....grrrrr

Thanks for any help!!!

fev

PS: I have checked wiki and their site is slow and incomplete as of updating for nichtfall I guess.

I have noticed the same thing, though I'm not much farther than you are. I check every one, and they all have the same skills, and it is definitely not all of them. Perhaps there is one like in Prophecies, the guy in ember light camp, that has them all later in the game.

RE: Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

I noticed this to, i kept checking the skills on my warrior and they all seemed the same.

Though there were a few paragon skills that cannot be gotten till a certain point, i'm working on a build that needed skills that can only be gotten late in the game, so I unlocked them on my warrior, then got them in my paragon.

My guess is the skills for the paragon and dervish are distributed well, but because most people have at least 1 of the other campaigns, they have a majority of the skills unlocked(core skills), and seeing as there are hardly any new skills, your only noticing changes when a new skill comes to an outpost.

One way to test this is if someone ONLY has nightfall, check to see if the skills are they same at most outposts, or if you get more skills the further you progress. Because remember, once you have unlocked a core skill, it can be obtained from any outpost.

Looking at the warrior NF skill list, there are 15 skills NOT counting elites. And since you have prophecies, theres a good chance that the skills the traders have are unlocked. With the exceptions being NF skills and any core skills you havnt unlocked.

I sure hope not, that would be extremely annoying. The rest of the skills at the END of the game?

I've just been using my previously useless Balthazar's Faction to unlock skills, then buy them.

EDIT: Most of the new skills in Nightfall can also be obtained through Hero Skills trainers. Just have to unlock it then buy it.

RE: Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

Kinda hard to explain what i'm trying to say. Basically, because of all the core skills you probably have unlocked, the 15 new skills for each profession are spread amoung all the skill trainers in the game. Therefore you wont see new skills at every trainer you go to, but they are there. Instead, MOST of the skills you will see, are skills you already have because of how they show ALL skills for your primary/secondary that you have already unlocked.

I'm not 100% sure how the hero skill system works, but I do know that it does NOT take any of your skillpoints. So using it to unlock a skill, then buying the skill on a different character will only cost 1 skillpoint. Though lets say you are a warrior and you get Koss a skill, if your warrior doesnt have that skill, it will be added to your skills. So if you see a new skill you want at a hero skill trainer, and you have the correct profession(primary or secondary) you can "buy" the skill using the hero trainer, and both you and your hero(s) will learn the skill. Best part is it costs 0 gold and no skillpoints either.

Fairly well put, with one minor technical error. The Hero Trainer DOES use skill points...just not ones you can see. Every time you gain a Sunspear Rank (and I'm guessing Lightbringer rank as well...haven't gotten that far yet) you gain a certain number of "Hero Skill Points" that are spent at when you select a skill from the Hero Trainer. If anybody has happened across how many you get at each Rank, or knows where the points display, it would help a lot.

I meant skillpoints as in what YOU can use to get skills.

Anyway, while looking around for something else, I accidently clicked a hero skill person and found an awnser to your question. If you click one, the first sentance says "I see you have accrued __ Hero Skill Points."

Mine right now is 13.

I know i've used one and I am currently lvl 7 in my sunspear title track, and I have lvl 1 lightbringer, so I would say that you get 2 points for each rank in your sunspear title.

RE: Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

Well, you would get some for lightbringer title to mwpeck. I have not used any, and am rank 7 in the sunspear title, rank zero in lightbringer, and I have 12. So I guess it's one for the first two ranks, then two for each rank after that. And I don't think unlocking a skill with a hero skill point unlocks it for you. I think it is equivalent to unlocking a skill with balthazar faction, you unlock it for your account, and thus for your heroes, but you haven't actually learned it. However, you would then be able to go to any skill trainer and buy it for 1k plus a regular skill point.

I'm pretty sure I saw most (if not all) of the "Guild Wars: Nightfall" skills in the "Gates of Torment" (obviously excluding: Elite Skills).

There are no Skill Trainers after this point so I think this is who you call "Skill Trainer Leader?"

RE: Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

It seems like a very knowledgeable group has been answering this thread, and maybe you can answer a question for me.

In Prophecies and Factions, as you were building your character you would get skills when you completed quests, some or most of the time. In Nightfall, after the encampment, I have not found 1 person that gives away any skills. Is the only way to gain skills to buy them from a trainer in a town or outpost? I am a Role Player, and do not PvP, or have a PvP character.

Thanks.

RE: Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

tip asked the same question, I was pondering. I checked the game manual and the FAQ section of the official site but I can't find out anywhere if you get skills through quests (like Prophecies) or if you have to buy them of the Skill Trainers.

Any help would be super.

Thanks!

When you unlock a skill for your hero it unlocks it for your account, and henceforth can be purchased from any skill trainer by your character.

I haven't seen any skill quests in Nightfall, I was very dissapointed as it is one of the things that I hoped would be reintroduced. Hmmmm.

RE: Skill Trainers...where are the rest of them!!!!!

Hmmm, well I bought all the skills from the island and moved on, 2 or 3 skill trainers later the skill trainer had new skills, about 12 of them....so i dunno why your having this problem. Something else you could do to get around what is happening is if you see a boss with skills you want, bring few cap sigs along and manually cap it that way! I've done it quite a bit in Tyria. Also in the little time I played in Cantha.

Thanks for the info everyone. I do miss all the skill quests as well. That was a great portion of the Prophecies chapter.

Believe it or not, it you select a skill from the Hero Skill Trainer it DOES teach it to your Character. It's how I got quite a few of my Dervish Skills. I picked 'em up from Shiloh in the Sunspear Great Hall. It won't put them directly into your skill bar, you actually have to move them from your skill selection. I ended up choosing the Dervish skills mainly because I had the Warrior skills I wanted unlocked already :p
