Soon to be the next noob

Hi All my wonderful fiancee just bought me WoW downloading it tonight and hopefully will be able to play tomorrow so I will be the ultra noob. I will probably need a little help once I get in game is there a gameamp chat channel for WoW like there is on CoX? is there a particular server that everyone plays on ?

Hey:).Okay.lets get down to buisness.World of warcraft(WoW)is a MMORPG. MASSIVEmultiplyeronlineRPG.I think thats what it stands for...lol...Okay."is there any particular server everyone plays on?"the answer is no.There are bout 200 servers and you can find a list of them Here.. I'd reccomend playing ALL the classes+reading about them before deciding which one you want to get to level 60.When i started WoW i chose a rogue and i was about level 5, when i decided i was sick of him. But because i was still a guild wars noob i felt obligated to stick with him.Sooo....i got to 60.than a 60 hunter.Anyways...Here is the link to all the guides in WoW...i'd suggest reading some of them such as this .This is the linkLink to the guides.Well,thats all i really have to say,and WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF WARCRAFT SECTION OF GAMEAMP:)

Yay Villainess Vines made it to the WoW site! Welcome!

Trepidalex linked you to some very good things. But there are 2 other guides I would strongly suggest you read also. They are a Classes Guide and a Professions Guide. And of course ask any questions you have!

And sadly there is no sort of global chat in WoW. And even if you are on the same server as someone, but on the opposite faction, you can't talk to eachother. The main reason we don't have a GameAmp server or guild yet is this community is still in the works (and doing great so far!). We are all kinda scattered across the servers. And with new servers popping up all the time server selection gets difficult.

I would suggest first deciding wether you want to be on a RP server, a PvE, or a PvP server. I personally let the game choose which server I settled onto (Sentinals RP). It was nice as the server had only been around for about 3 weeks when I started, so there wasn't any kind of population problem or what not.

OH and i noticed the jeni said "there isnt any type of global chat"but I dont think she added one of the coolest and newest features of WoW...cross realm PvP...Now we have things called battlegrounds,you can find more information about them Here.Sooo...if you just happened to be in the battlegrounds(BGS)with someone you know that is on another server you can talk to them!well for as long as your in the BGS.This has happened to be about 5 times in all the battlegrounds.Alterec valley, warsong gulch, and arathi basin. they are also very rewarding!! Well,I hope this helped you a little more and I hope it well increase your world of warcraft experience!

There has been a suggestion of a wow RTC chat. Maybe the nice devs will give us one when TBC comes out or somethin....ya never know. If you have any questions we have lots and lots of smart people here that have played a long time. And most of them are pretty good about replying quickly to posts. So see ya round.

At this time there is no guild. Maybe sometime in the future, but there just wasn't enough intrest in it when we tried to start one.

oh and here are two sites that basically if you type what your looking for in it shows you what it is,where to get it stats etc this is the best one,i love it and thottbothere...if you cant find what your looking for on allakhazam go to thottbot...but that will rarely happen!:)

I doubt you will be a noob even from the 1st hour in game as I will give credit to the developers for making WOW super easy to slip into so get ready to have some fun thought at some point you might want to turn your chat window off. That is awesome that someone special in your life was thoughtfull enough to buy that one for you and I am a firm advocate the couples that play together stay together point of view; well that is as long as each has their own computer. Good Hunting and fortune to you in Azeroth.

Well I ventured into the World of Warcraft today made a night elf Druid with skinning and sewing as my skills was fun even had a great noob moment of falling off the side somewhere into the sea and had to contact a gm to get me out as there was no way back up lol. but other than that adventure it was pretty fun. Although I must say with my backround in CoX traveling is sooooooooooooooo slow I was missing my swift lol (Run in CoX) but its an interesting change.

Just wait till you get to level 40----mount 60% faster...you'll also get a 100%faster mount that costs 1000gold at level 60,and wait until you discover the wonderfull gryphon! It'll fly ye all kinds of neat places...just gottta get there least once on foot...well,I hope your WoW experience is exciting and not near as tiring and boring as mine was and still is!

The crafting is really neat in Warcraft and I think skinning and tailoring is a superb 1st choice. Best of luck and Happy Hunting.

Night Elf Druid really is a great race class combo to start out on and a general fun region to explore so a big 2 thumbs way up on your choices. I forsee many extended gaming sessions in your future as the time synch pulls you away. :)

i did go to the spirit healer but i had to go get my body out in the sea i noobishly thought i could climb my way back up and fell 2 more times to my death lol

Um, you can rez at the spirit healer. There is a bit of a penality, but sometimes it is the only option.

To rez at the spirit you talk to her. She tells you the penalties and you choose to accept or not. :)

All of the gear you have on you (in your back pack and equipted) will take damage and need repaired. And after level 5 I think, you start suffering from "death sickness", which means you shouldn't do any kind of fighting until it is gone (decreases everything pretty much by 75%). The max length of death sickness is 10 min. So you don't want to do it if you can avoid it... but sometimes there is just no getting your body back.

Meh, rez sickness, death sickness. Potato, potato (hum.. doesn't work so well in writen text.) And is it really level 10? I guess I didn't die enough at lower levels *grin*

Heh I died a rediculous amount of times in my lower levels lol I always try to push my character to it's limits...heh I can usually down even red monsters now that I've learned how to keep my warrior alive long enough.
