| Great tip if you have Nightfall! [+ a hero build!] |
|
|
|
Hi, I have Nightfall for 2 weeks now and I have 5 heroes so far. I normaly take my 2 monks (prot and heal) and a ranger with me. Now comes the great hint (most of you guys must already have tried this): Make them all 2nd Ranger and give them pets! You get a party of 7 people where you are allowed to have 4. That kicks butt! I'll now explain how do get them pets (It took me and hour to figure it out:
- Equip charm animal at your heroes (ofcourse);
- If ur heroes are higher than lvl 3, set them on "Avoid combat"
- Click on the skill you want your hero to use. There should be a V on it;
- Equip a weapon with req. (staff recommended) and attack the flamingo (or something);
- Stop attacking, your hero will now charm the animal and bacause you set your other heroes on "Avoid combat", they won't beat up your new pet.
Do this as many times as you want. (I got the flamingo's south-west of "The Astralarium" between that and "Sunspear Great Hall").
EDIT: 2nd hint: Make from you ranger hero (who you get pretty fast) a Minion Master!
Here comes the build (at lvl 17):
Death magic: 12
Expertise: 11
Beast mastery: 4
Skills:
1.
Blood of the master: so that (s)he can heal the minion(s)
2.
Animate bone fiend: good because of the range, but beware of the energy cost! You can choose animate bone horror/minions in stead of this one.
3.
Animate bone horror (Factions)ELITE: Use this elite skill if you happen to have Factions (wich I don't)
or use a Nightfall skill, called "Animate Shambling Horror" (I couldn't find a pic of it at the database).
4.
Consume corps: Great way to get energy for new bone minions.
5.
Deathly Swarm: This skill is usually blocked, but if something happens and (s)he needs to deal damage, this is the way to do it.
6.
Comfort animal: To revive the pet when it dies.
7.
Charm animal: To get the pet (duh)
8.Skill of your choice, I have a res signet here (blocked).
NOTE: This build is made for a mm WITH pet. If you don't want a pet you can change skill 7 and 8 ofcourse.
P.S. I'm planning to put this on the "Guides" section.
I HOPE YOU CAN USE THIS BUILD!

That's weird. My Ranger and Warrior hero's both have pets. I used this idea for when I was going for Survivor title (before dieing doh!) so I would have some more meat shields.
I asure you it is possible to cap the pets with your heroes. You need to first target the pet yourself, then tell him to use Charm animal (making sure the other heroes are set to not attack). And if you have capped a pet in the past but need a new one, I think you need to go to the tamer to give him your old pet before getting another.

Well, i went my my ranger hero from Elona all the way back to Ascalon just to cap a Melandru Stalker. All u gotta do basically is walk to it, aim it, make sure she doesnt aim on anything else and charm it.
GGS is recruiting. Post a application here.

hmm, I figured gettin pets out rather easily, but I have no idea how I would get rid of them LOL (if I wanted another one) ...
either way, I end up with Mo/Me because I can run pretty heavy energy using builds and use Mesmer skills for energy management :) seems to work really great!

As mentioned above - keep in mind that as of this post there is no way to change your hero's pets :(
I made the mistake of taking an annoing flamingo and I've tried everything to get rid of it.
Studies show that 92% of teens Hate rap. I am part of that 92%. If you are too and you are pissed at the 8% that are a bunch of ignorant "G"'s put this in your signature.

Though its nice to have a bunch of pets to help you fight, remember, when a pet dies, it disables your hero's skills for a short time, not the best thing for monk heros. :)

If you're in the mood for having mini armies, setting up the Master of Whispers as an MM works a treat too....he even gets in first on available corpses when fighting corpse-using baddies like those Gravebanes in Vabbi.

I did not give you the negative credit, but I will volunteer a reason why someone might have given it to you.
Asking for cred like that doesn't really impress people here. Credibility is supposed to be a freely given reward for help/kindness. Asking for cred makes it seem as though you're not really being helpful, but expecting reward.
Sorry to sound harsh, but most, if not all, of the people in the past who have asked for cred all the time gain their credibility slower than those who don't.
Just help out, be nice, and be funny. That is how you gain cred the fastest. :P

Lol I said that as a joke.. but if some people don't have humor I can understand that. Only prob is that I post very often and never any creds lol.

Wow guys negative credit cause a guy asked for some. He has only been here two weeks and made a mistake. Usually this forum is more understanding or forgiving than that.
Everyone has every right to give him whatever credit they are able to but IMHO this seems a bit harsh for someone that only joined a few weeks ago. I have seen members with post counts in the 700+ range doing the same thin without a bit of critisism.
I think Cswella Summed it up best by giving advice.
Again do what you want with the credit you earned, this is just my two cents, cause I hate to send someone packing because they got neg credit without good cause or before anyone gave them a few pointers. (I know I just about left in the beginning for that very reason)

gah, yet another thread turning into a lil banter about credit. To both sides of the issue, giving someone a lot of neg cred for being new and not knowing he shouldnt ask for it, is almost as bad as asking for it. I can understand a -1 or -2 credit for it, just to kinda open the eyes, but post a reason why you gave the negative credit. Credit is supposed to be there to either reward someone, or help them straighten out a bit. I for one have learned not to care about my credit, I post what I think, and never expect to get anything for it.
but yea, back to where I was going with this. I never asked for credit, and the most negative credit I ever got was -6 credit at one time. Look at my credit now? It has no meaning to me, you could start me out at 0 again, and I'd be back up again in a lil bit, not because I strive for it, but because I do what cswella said ;) hehe
either way, blah to this issue, lol.
I havent really seen you around gameamp much, so welcome! :) hope you enjoy your stay! and dont worry, the negative credit will work it way to the positive in some time ^^

Well it's true you haven't seen me a lot so far because I'm new ^^, BUT I'm working on it ;). If you would look at the home right now you would see I've been posting at 4/5 new posts. Well any way thx for the support and the 10 credit to help me out! I'm trying to get some better credibility :)
Oh ye, the reason why I care about negative creds is that ppl are going to look different at you (and your posts) right away when they see the negative creds. That's all.

I cant understand why you would have gotten negative credit for it. When i read your post the first time i understood that the credit things was ment as a joke and not to be considered serious. You just tried to share an idea, which in my opinion is a great thing to do.
Anyway; dont worry about negative credit. With usefull and/or helpfull posts it will go up soon enough.

Pets are barely any damage, and it's a waste of a skill slot especially on a monk

The truth of pets is that they add more of a liability than anyhing to a hero/hench team. Why? Because your healers tend to target anything that needs a heal, thus depleting their energy reserves faster than normal. Couple this with a non-beast master build which lacks pet armor buffs, your pet wont have much armor, and on top of that it makes a nice target. As it was also mentioned above, pets disable skills so if they die, they can take others down with them. Nothingis worse than when you've got a Mo/R in a PuG, his pet dies in a spike, and so does the team simply because his skills got disabled.
For me, unlss I've got human monks, I'll try and avoid the pets, unless of course my hero is running an enraged beastmaster build. If that is the case I make sure the pet is a suitable level and that the beatmaster has the skills to keep it alive, not the monk.
Signature made by me, via Microsoft Paint. ^^

I'm perfectly willing to help, however due to real life, I can't get on very often. Still and all, feel free to PM me in game or here if you need help.
