NAMES

lol my tauren hunter has a cat, i named him bigglesworth.

Finally after a while, hunters can name their pets, just click the pet, right click the portrait and hit rename. YESSSSSS EVIL BIGGLESWORTH OF DOOM MUAHA

I don't know if they are better...but they can certainly look cooler...
i have a cat named Nippers and a bear named Ruxpin...GRRR

I use the following naming convention: As my character's name is Thuderbore, I usually use Thunder+whatever animal it is.

For example:
Thunderbear
Thundercat
Thunderbird
Thunderpup
Thundermonkey
Thundercrab
Thunderlizard

Seems to work pretty good. :-)

I think Thundermonkey and Thunderlizard were too long, so I chopped out a bunch of vowels. I forget.

I just take a word, like crisis, and put it backwards Sisirc. You get tons of neat and original names.

Cmon no Olde Englishe words like Caerlwn? tch you people need to read more!

When i tamed my boar i called it Bors (heh cliche but Bors is the name of a general from Gaul (France) in the Pendragon Cycle series by Steven R Lawhead).

Since you dont really use names that fit too well in medieval times here are some examples:

Ywir (I wir)
Tormach (Tor mahck)
Caledvwlch (Kal ed voolck)
Lemorbam (Lehmorbahm)
Zorithos (Zor ithohs)
Lamach (Lahmahck)

They may be a little complicated but their pet names! so people dont need to type them too often.

PS: You cant name a wizard biff or a rogue named bob, when you do god kills a kitten, seriously)

Yeah, it was just that that pet was a snow leopard too. But I gues Fluffy would be a very common name for a snow cat...

I also had a cat named bigglesworth (actually king bang from STV), another named catatonic, tried naming my cat pussinboots, but the filter wouldn't let me so I named him kittyinboots. Now I have a cat named DrZoidburg (pridelord from winterspring). I personally enjoy going after rare spawns like humar or cranky benj now that I am 60. Been after cranky benj for a while, no luck yet. I'm going to name him Cranky-B.

My big bear in Guild Wars is called Dimple.. prob gonna call my pet in WoW the same.. if im ever gonna make a Hunter, my server is full of em.

My pets name is Dude. Plain and simple. Plus it sounds good when you combine it with any skill. Ex: Revive Dude, Dismiss Dude.

Well, my hunter has a pet owl named...uh, yeah. I'm sure you can figure it out, just keep in mind it is only one owl. ;) What can I say, I should never be allowed to name my pets when I'm in a crazy silly mood.

on my main hunter.. i kept names simple.. i have a nightsaber (cat from the NE starting zone) kitty =)

When I named my bear I tried to think of a relevant name with a good rough consonant in it. Names usssually sound better if they sound like what they are named after. A good way to do this is try to think what, say, a cat, would be called if we didn't have the word "cat." Another way is combine two eglish words into a relevant but uncommon meaning. For example, my bear is called Rickjaw.

Haha, I couldn't think of a name for my pet, so I came up with a name that just showed off I tamed an elite mother
I have Broken Tooth, and I named it BrokedTooth. Funny, I just wanted to show it off. Not really a good name.

I'm a dragon lover so I name all my pets after my favorite dragons based on their color. Black = Crosis, White = Treva, Green = Rith, Blue = Dromar. My Hunter is named after a red dragon, Darrigaaz. I try not to have more than one of any color. Otherwise I use backups like Tek which is multicolored.
Right now I have a white cat and a black scorpid.

Darrigaaz -Lvl 70 Orc Hunter
Kkrazy -Lvl 66 Undead Warlock
DarkkApostle -Lvl 70 Tauren Shaman
