Ok so loads of requests about this.... so I thought I'd do it and share my method.
How do you Max the Sunspear Title Track?
Grinding... for the moment. If you're a Sunspear Castellan (8) you've kinda missed your chance for the time being... but ANet are expected to introduce new Bounties in what's expected to be an Elite Type area, similar to UW, FoW, The Deep, and Urghoz's Warren.
Anyway, if you have the time... and you really want to max this title now, then the following will tell you how and where to do it.
At the portal located in The Alkali Pan (directly West of The Bone Palace) you get a 7 point Bounty for the nearby group of Undead creatures.
The Awakened Acolyte's and Cavaliers both use Ressurect Skills... so don't kill them, kill the other things in the Mob and let these guys keep you supplied with targets. You still get points for killing them the second, third, and one thousandth time...
Hench and Heroes are little help (except for ressing you if you go afk and die), so I used the new Flag system to send them out of the way once I had the mob down to a more manageable size - 2 Acolytes, 2 Cavaliers, and 2 Carvers - I just went from target to target, even killing the Cavaliers and Acolytes (they get ressed too).
It took me 5 hours with aprox. 1 hour of that being afk for breaks... I started with 7,444 so the Bounty was still available, and I just passed 15k, I also have every sunspear reward quest still active (except primaries that got me there) so I will hopefully pass it by a couple more thousand... even tho it's now maxed. (15,011) EDIT: Currently 17,231k
Anyway, a lot of people are interested in maxing this one, and that's ^^ how to do it ;)
Good luck if you choose to do this one... find something to keep you occupied during the grind... I watched a movie, chatted in A-chat, and made Lunch...

Kind of a waste of time unless you must have that title right now.........When anet does the large update later, they said they are going to make the rank attainable via normal play instead of farming like you had to do. You still might have to farm for it, but you wont need to kill, let them res, kill, etc.
That being said, congrats, though I think i'll just wait till they update it.

Right now those who are already Castellans have no means to get Spearmarshall, since no NPCs give bounties. But fear not, Gaile Grey said in the upcoming major update there WILL be ways to reach level 9.
(Right now you can only get it by being lvl 7 and then resurrecting mobs get you straight to 9)

I agree mwpeck, the Grind it took was actually more than I really wanted to do... but I gave myself a goal and reached it, there'll be tonnes more I'm sure when/if they increase the bountys, but for now, I feel a little satisfaction knowing I maybe one of a small percentage to have attained it before they make it so easy.
Protector of Elona next... then Lightbringer maybe...
Oh, and as things stand, being level 8 basically means you've missed the chance, for the time being anyway.

Well, while I agree with mwpeck, I have to say, you are probably one of a very few people that has that title maxed. So even if it was more of a pain than you wanted it to be, you did it, and now you look pretty awesome.

Did you have to do this alone? I would imagine it would be hard to get hench to back off and not kill the guys that res.

I had 3 heroes, both Monks and the Paragon... I needed them to get there unscaved, and to help reduce the total amount off bad guys to a more manageable amount to solo.
I just used the Flags to send them away, using the speed buff to get them to break agro... left them on passive, while I did what I needed.
I actually had to go afk midway through acouple of times, so I used them to res me...

Well that's the good thing about Heroes and Hench of Nightfall... you control them... use your flags to keep them out of the way.
I did explain in this in the first post, but I've since editted it out.

If you put them in passive, and click them to the side of the radar, they won't do anything. They do as you tell them. I took 3 Heroes, no hench, and they never did anything, unless I wanted them to.

ok ty. but i kinda cant heal so i dono, and with the henchman UI they will auto attack the monks. but np i'll test it with no bounty

Thats why you need to take Heroes.. and put them on the Avoid Combat option. :)

well....i tried to do it last night.... and at 12k, sunspear i err7.......so yea....damnnnn anyway how long do i have to w8 untill those misssoins, where i can earn sunspear points??
