Factions Vs Nightfall

I thought about it alot, and my conclutions are many, but what do you guys think.

What Makes NF worth buying? Accept the extra slots and in the collectors case, Minipets and new dancemoves ;]

What differenses are u the most and the least happy about?

I think its really nice with the little things, they made the best things even better.

Nightfall hands down... Heroes, HUGE land, Missions actually have real objectives like the Dam one.

NF hands down is the best!
Great professions, landscapes, missions (especially in the Realm of Torment), heroes, thtere's just so much more from a role playing perspective.

I love the asian culture/history but nightfall has vast improvments over factions that takes me away from my beloved factions to play nightfall. :)

i agree with everyone,nightfall.
not because you get paragon jsut because i hate factions because factions was way to easy and factions was a big wased of my money

I have to say, I think Nightfall might be the best campaign of the three. There are so many new elements that improve the gameplay by so much. Factions was very good, I really liked it, at least the first few times, but I had my complaints. I haven't really seen anything to complain about with nightfall yet other than the incompatibility with my old video card.

Sure Sure Nightfall is better, focourse. But still, I like factions because of the community,. but that will all come in time in NF to i guess.

I don't like NF to much, but I'm too lazy to do PvE
If you are into PvP, get Nightfall, as you'd be missing out on hundreds of skills

nightfall for sure,

NIGHTFALL

whats good bout it

*heroes
*new profs
*new land
*VERY VERY in depth storyline,just the what i like it
*u dont have to split up like in factions
*and best of all NEW GAME

whats bad bout it

*some of the quests can be a lttle repetitive
*the missions & quests towards the end of the game BECOME VERY VERY HARD,SO HARD I WANT TO RIP MY HAIR OUT AND YELL LIKE A MANIAC HARD,but just a group that wants to have fun usually does the trick.

FACTIONS

whats good bout it

*exellent pvp aspect and upgrades
*new and cool armor
*lots of greens,and urgoz & the deep realms
*free greens(i wont say when,just incase some dont want to know)

whats bad bout it

*you have to choose one side (kurz or lux) which kinda sucks
*alot of greens are good but there were too many
*the story was really short
*you HAD to pvp for faction just to move on in the game
*in competitive missions against the 2 clans people were really rude as if they really did hate each other
*lastly,the villian was way too obvious

IMO

nightfall- 8/10
factions- 5.5/10

PROPHOCIES- 9/10

Nightfall-

Awesome Storyline
Better balance between PvP and PvE.
Dervish FTW!
Missions are scablable to the number of players in your group.
The Environments are beautfiul!

I really don't have any cons here.

Factions-

Asian Archetecture is pretty.
Cool new crafting materials.
Excellent for PvP and GvG.

Factions Cons-

Not enough missions for PvE.
Story felt rushed.
Final boss was a pansy. No challenge.
Could they have made us run any longer between goals?
City area made me dizzy and nauseous. (Seriously)
Challenge missions only accessible by Guilds or by invite. Not cool.

I'd say you want to get Nightfall. And forget that Factions ever happened...kinda like Star Trek V.

I'd say Nightfall overall but I really enjoy Factions too. As said, the asian culture is stunning and something I've come to really like but also the assasin that comes along with it. Man do I love my sin..

If I had to buy one I'd probably get nightfall because it's just so huge, but Factions makes a great add to it I think.

If your'e going to burn bridges, don't be a sissy and use some harsh words, let a nuke do the talking! They'll get the idea..

Being that I have all the three games, Id have to say I like Factions best. I just liked the pace of it all. I like the fact I can get my character to lvl 20 a few consecutive hours, giving me more time to farm, get all the armors I want, same with weapons.

I've beaten Nightfall and I agree the story is nice and there are a lot more to do, but I still like Factions best.

Not to mention I just think Faction characters are totally kyoot. Can't say that much for Prophecies Char's =x.

Well... I love Nightfall for the Paragon but i must say without fractions there would be no alliance. And also i love the assasin. Hmmm.. Hard disision.

I don't really feel like repeating everything said here, so I'll just put it in fairly basic terms.

PvE wise, Nightfall was better, classes and skills wise (for all classes, not just some), Factions took it hands down. While I like both the Dervish and Paragon class to a point, I find my Ritualist and Assassin much more fun to play. Plus, green farming and soloing wise, Factions is pretty much a staple game to get just for the skills needed. IE: A/E (E/A), W/Rt, Rt/Me, N/Mo (Spoil Victor), Grenths Balance, etc. Lets not forget the Assassin Solo Tombs build.

But, in the end it really does go down to your playing style. If you don't farm much but, enjoy the PvE aspect, buy Nightfall. Or, if you enjoy a faster paced game and plan to do some long term farming, Factions is your best bet.

Well its sort of an unfair comparrison......because they are 6-8months aprt.

Had they been released on the same day i think your question would be more valid. Personaly im a PVE kinda guy who likes to dabble in PVP from time to time.

I personally prefer NF becasue the quests are layed out a lil better and its just more fun to play with customisable heros than with henchies (mind u I can bring my heors to factions if I want). But I prefer the 15k Luxon armor for my warriror than any other armor in Guildwars. But thats just me.

But factions kinda made it a PVP type of theme, where as NF was more of a PVE type of game. Plus NF has the advantage of coming out after Factions so it has all the enhancments.

But When I got Factions there was no such thing as NF so I got all i could out of Factions and when NF came out I havent done many Factions quests since.

I think its good to have all 3 Campaigns for the Total experience, skills, armor, PVP choices, and professions.

To me the Assasins are best left to very experienced players, because ive seen so many die in less than 10 seconds in a fight its rediculous. Most people try to use them like a warrior which is not the case at all. The Rits are very cool and are easier to "know your roll" in a group.

In NF the DRV and PAR are great to use, I have yet to REALLY use either past the training missinons but ive played with people who have them and i like what I see.

But going back to the point I was making, is due to the release times, u cant really/fairly choose one over the other because NF is an "imporvment" over Proph and Factions.

For scenery I would have to go with Factions as well nightfall is just a bit....bland =/

As for general gameplay I would go for nightfall, its story is more interesting than factions and I feel its skills are more diverse and useful as well.

At first, I thought I liked Nightfall better. But the thought of getting more characters through, the whole Realm of Torment, leveling heroes....I dunno. I could do Prophecies over and over. But the other two campaigns...meh.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons...for you are crunchy, and good with ketchup.

Ooooh I can now post!

Was having trouble earlier....

Well:

Porblem with both is the gates....sooo irritating, cos if you don't happen to have enough time to do a mission, then you're stuck...sometimes this is irritating (I wish I could bypass the NF missions....I've completed it once, let me through to the end!!!)

Great points about NF: Heroes. It's huge (though Tyria is the best). It's pretty. If's easy to get full AP :) Paragons RULE. Dervs are also cool.

FActions: Also quite pretty, rit/ass are cool. Factions (kinda irritating...)

NF: Some HARD missions.....it's not fun to do a mission 5 times in a row....

Factions: Also got some hard ones, the town gets irritating after a bit... Scenery doesn't vary as much...

Tbh I liked Faction over Nightfall.
Mostly because I find Ritualist and Assasin more intresting and fun characters to play rather than Paragon or Dervish.
Also the scenary of Faction is fantastic!
Nightfall is a great game aswell ofcourse.

Well...

The City parts start to drag imho....

Plus I actually hated having to fight the Afflicted....euurgh

Undercity was in my opinion, the low point of factions....

The starter island rocked though, and the Factions part is cool...I suppose I haven't seen much of that...

I'm a big fan of Prophecies though... Pre- was BEAUTIFUl, the desert is cool, kryta is nice, the Shiverpeaks rule...

only bad part is the jungle imho...

But I think that Eye of the North might be better than nightfall after all. its a mix of both prophecies, factions and nightfall. and do not forget all the new armors.(40 new armors I've heard)
