Any body figured out a good secondary other than monk? I am running around with 10 characters and other than my monk and those not at the point to get secondaries they're all monk. I got no problems with it I just really would like something else.

Every class has a secondary that they can use to benefit certain builds. Alot of good builds are ___/Monk, but branching out in 2ndary profs helps you get a better feel for how you play the character. An example of a non-monk 2nd is a elem with secondary mesmer to echo nuke.

Well branching out is what I am trying to do with this paragon, but a lot of my messing around with different builds only seems to work in the conceptual stages, upon application the build doesnt work. My only reason so far in grabbing monk secondary is rez. And for some reason any time I find something outside the box that works I'm told I'm wrong (in game). So I figure if I can get others to help me I wont be alone and I can tell the people who say I'm doing it wrong to take a long walk preferbly off a short pier.
And Lord a little of topic, but a really cool idea let me know how it works out, cause I would really like to switch out of W/Mo (I miss my w/r ::sniffle::) and W/P sounds like it would be really fun.

it works out great indeed do check it out

I wont change a thing on my w/mo though but my w/p is a blast
IMO if someone says your wrong (as often some have told me)I just remind them of what was achieved. LOL I think the best is on my monk hero, they all say that she is no good oh what a noOb built and all that, well I just tell them that this monk built has beaten both previous chapter and that monks are only as good as the team.
this normally shuts them up :)

monk is commonly used as a secondary because of the hard res, however now paragons and ritualists also have hard resses, so i'd be willing to bet that we see more paragon secondaries in the future.

With my paragon I went Warriro secondary, first of all the paragon has its own hard res, second it has sufficient healing to depend on itself and third there is lots of echoes that re-apply everytime a shout or chant ends and there isn't a better shout than Watch Yourself! :P

I would like to point out that if your using a proffesion that has some decent self healing, choosing elementalist for your second prof really helps out for yourself, since you can use many of the selfprotecting skills that the Elementalists benefit from, such as Armour of Earth, Kinetic armour, Armour of Mist or even Mist Armour. I always bring armour of earth with me when I play my monk, since it's so handy to use. costs me 10 energy, but when that's done, I get an extra 40-50arm, depending on how much I'm putting into earth magic.
If you instead want to use it for damage, there is plenty of low costing energy spells that can help you out. you can easily manage knockdowns better, give that extra degen dmg with mark of rodgort, well, generally pretty much mess up everyone around...
Just my thoughts on the go, But you might also consider going mesmer secondary, it has some good/decent energy management skills aswell...
But Elementalist second is by far the best choice I think ;-)

I've also noticed that Paragons are so open ended, you can pretty much play them any way you want with a little alteration.
I think there have already been two completely different builds posted in the guides section: One for plain assault and one for monk assistance.
If you have a primary Paragon, anything you choose as your secondary can be used effectively with some practice. I've been working on two types of paragon myself.
Since the paragon is really well suited for healing, I've been working on a build to make it a pure healer, much like a restoration ritualist.
Also, the paragon looks like it might be able to survive on the frontlines, even though it's a middle line fighter. I'm trying out Paragon/Warrior for swords, or Paragon/Dervish for scythes, combined with all the buffing skills the paragon comes equipped with. (This build most likely won't work out very well, but it's worth a try.)

Vae Turpis - N (Completed Prophecies/Completed Factions/Grand Court of Sebelkeh)
Jin Oparu - Mo (Ring Of Fire/Completed Factions/Gates Of Madness)
Navinel Ruos - R (Thunderhead Keep/Completed Factions/Kodonur Crossroads)
Hotaru Kanitt - A (Dragon's Lair/Unwaking Waters/Grand Court of Sebelkeh)
Damon Galuff - W (Thunderhead Keep/Completed Factions/Grand Court of Sebelkeh)
Leione Dronnot - Rt (Argury Rock/Unwaking Waters/Ruins of Morah)
Master Reifu - D (Sanctum Cay/Boreas Seabed/Gates of Madness)
Jornead Galuff - P (Argury Rock/Unwaking Waters/Grand Court of Sebelkeh)
Sahlatra Lucis - E (Argury Rock/Arborstone/Grand Court of Sebelkeh)

I'm using Ranger as my secondary for my Paragon for 2 skills basically.....Apply Poison and Troll Ungent. I added TU after finding out that I was spreading my attributes too thin across too many attribute lines. Since AP and TU are both Wilderness Survival, TU became the obvious choice for my self heal.
As for attributes, I haven't added any runes or insignias to my armor yet, so they're pretty basic:
Wilderness Survival = 8
Spear Mastery = 12
Command = I think 9, not sure though
Leadership = left over points
I use only adrenaline skills from the Paragon line and have no real issues with energy management. As for the skills I use....here they are:
Apply Poison
"Go for the Eyes" or Lightbringer skill
Signet of Return (mission) or Signet of Capture (exploring)
Troll Ungent
Barbed Spear
Wild Throw
Blazing Spear
Cruel Spear
I really like this build because all of the conditions that you're putting on your enemies. You've got Poison, Bleeding, Burning and Deep Wound. With coordinated attacks, most enemies go down pretty fast. You'll see a lot of the enemies remove the conditions, but the great thing is that you'll just put them right back on again :D
The only problem that I've found is that some enemies are basically immune to conditions like Poison and Bleeding. The good thing is that Burning and Deep Wound still work.
I hope this helps.
