We are supposed to get our first snow tonight! Yay! I'm so happy! I've been waiting for this since May!
So, do you have snow? Can you send me some? This year is going to be the first where I don't have to worry about driving in it every day, so I'm hoping for a blizzard!

We've had snow a few times already. Once It even snowed enough to cover everything. It was all melted the next day though. It has yet to get cold enough to get a good snowfall here.

Well here in Pittsburgh we had a few flurries a couple of weeks ago, but nothing stuck. It wont be long before I'm out shoveling the walk and digging out my car...not looking forward to that part. But I am from Louisiana originally, so I still find something magical about the snow. No matter how much of a pain it is, I still love it.

I'm at about 5000 feet on the east (Nevada) side of the Sierras. No snow yet on the valley floor. Th peaks and passes have had some snows already. One ski resort opened Tuesday and several more are scheduled for Friday-Sunday.
On a side note, Monday night we had one heck of a wind storm. Sustained wind speeds of 60mph, gusts over 70mph in the valley, and gusts of 158mph on the summits. Several truckers didn't heed the wind advisories and were ticketed and an unlucky few were tipped on their sides.

I love snow myself. And last winter was a huge dissapointment in the snow category. So I'm hoping mother nature makes up for it this year. Yep, I could really handle a blizzard.

I lived in Michigan for 18 years so I know snow! It was a lot of fun to play in while I was growing up, but once the mundane daily routine of commuting back and forth to work started, it got old real fast.
Now that I'm in Texas, I miss it. It's more of a novelty item here if it ever happens and in my 20+ years here in Austin I've actually seen it 3-4 times. They get snow a little more often in the pan handle. The one thing I do know is that if I see snow or ice on the roads....... its a snow day, even if it's 1/2". They aren't equipped to treat the roads, or to drive on them for that matter!
I keep telling myself that one of these years my vacation will be in Colorado at a ski resort again. I hear they are already getting record snows in a few places. The snowboarders and skiers should have a good year.

Well, when I got out of bed this morning it was almost 60 degrees. Right now it's pouring down rain.

*deep sigh* the weather man lied! All it did was rain all day and night. No snow. So... who is going to send me snow?

Well, it my whole lifetime (Which actually only amounts to 14 years...), it has only snowed here in louisiana once. And that was at least 4 years ago, probably longer. The only other time I've seen snow was when I went to New Mexico a long time ago when I was maybe in third grade maybe and once also when my family went to Texas to see our relatives.
So, yeah. I can't send you snow...
But it does seem like it might snow here this year, which would be only the third or fourth time it's snowed in my town in the history of its long boring life. It's already getting down to 45-55 degrees in the mornings and night, and it isn't even winter yet technically. So I'm hopeful still.

As soon as it snows this year I will send you a semi full...how bout that....or you can just visit buffalo or Pittsburg since we have a CRAPLOAD of it here. I am sure BP and Cil will attest to it with me.
Snow FTL
jeni to stop doing snow dance IMO....my favorite time of year is the fall when I can drive around in the convertable with my friends with the top down in a wool sweater...snow really puts a damper on that.

I will NEVER stop doing my snow dance! Must. Have. Snow.
As for shoveling... um, that's not why I like it. I like sledding, and building snow men, and trying to make igloos. Doesn't anyone play in the snow any more?

Trust me...when the snow becomes more work then fun. The kid inside you fades away.
