RE: sg questions

well you can always post it here on Gameamp under the server your on there is a space for super groups. I also find it good to play with people first then ask if they want a sg invite instead of just sending one.

Thanks to Death Fetish for this cool "siggy"

Also for the CoX Community as a whole; there is the Supergroups Forum and individual Server Forums on the Official Boards.

RE: sg questions

I have tripled the size of the VG I’m in. The owner has let all the recruiting up to me. I DO NOT SENT RANDOM SG/VG INVITES. You will get members that know nothing of your VG, or why they joined. Plus I really hate random invites from SG/VG so I’m not sending them to another player. Broadcast to everyone a short 3-4 sentence description about your SG/VG. I send a broadcast once an hour per zone so the other players don’t get bothered by me. I have two different types of broadcast recruiting systems.
Funny:
“Our VG has some openings for more dateless losers. We have 6 tpers, hosp and over 70 members. Send tell or yell threw broadcast to get invited.”

Formal:
“The VG World Conquers has a few openings for new members. We have 6 tpers, hosp and 70+ members. Send tell or yell threw broadcast to get invited.”

Both have worked great for me. Also I started an e-mail system in my VG. As soon as we get a new member they are sent an e-mail telling them to turn on SG MODE, some rules and what ever else you want. This is great and cuts back on typing to the new members to relay this info. Type up an e-mail and send it to yourself, then just forward it to the new members. Also make sure all the current members get the e-mail so they can send it out if they get a new member.

RE: sg questions

I ran a SG for quite a while on CoH. Teaming and chatting with gamers is the best method I know. If you have a good time with a PUG and the VG-less players have fun and see you positively interact with the other players on the team, they often ask if you happen to be recruiting.

Inviting Pick Up players into mostly SG player teams is a big draw. If they come away with a "These guys really have fun together" vibe from the experiance they will come to you.

Of course it never hurts to announce it here in the SG section. Just be sure to put your server up in the original post and some sort of mini mission statement.

Do you prefer people in SG mode all the time?
Do you place players into teams or let everybody work that out for themselves?
Do you have a theme to your SG?
What hours do the bulk of your players run on the servers?

A little bit about stuff like that.

RE: sg questions

Yeah if you send random invites the responce rate is normally exceptionally low unless you particually want first time players. My top 3 members in my small but comfortable sg all came from teaming, one guy ive known since december, the first player i concidered a friend and hell tis nearly been a year and we still team strong! Thats why hes a lead general in my lil sg and all my other members are growing fast (outgrowing me as ever due to my ******* **** pc that i hate with a passion sometimes) however new graphics card will change that and enough on that

Bottom line team with people and ask, dont beg cause it looks sad though sometimes it works!
