| Solo farming. A thing of the past? |

well i just wanted to get peoples thoughts on solo farming. in many places the only way to do it is 3 monsters at a time so my question is A) is solo farming still profitable? and B) is there any recommended builds/places to solo farm. There is no reason to get nasty while answering this. I myself am trying to work out a new shiroken solo farm build but am having diffculties. If i get it working, i will post it here asap.

i dont think its failed, it jsut takes alot longer, though i do think playing through the game normally and stuff is more profitable (and more fun) and i used to solo farm 24/7

Many ways to solo farm

And this build quickly kills vermin and yeilds me 1.5-2k per run not including greens:

im experimenting w/ a new monk solo build thats pulled off a guild here on amp but i use tainted instead lemme bring that build up

Also, most builds will still work, you just gotta corner them (Like run into a small passage, go to the end of it and then fight so that they are too bunched up to run away).

I don't think that solo farming is totally broken, but it is just more time consuming.
I found a fun new way to solo farm is by using the Wurms in Nightfall. If you take the western exit form the Bone Palace and head into the Alkali Pan, hop in the Wurm Spoor, and kill the Graven Moniliths, Mandragor, and the two Djinns. Also, you can head all the way over to kill Vah the Crafty. That is the run i do and it normally nets me about 1-2k + a purple or gold.

Farming with E/Mo is by far the best, I can solo any spawn in the realm of torment that dosnt have a mesmer in it =). (or enchantment removal...)

I use my ranger to solo. I trap to solo groups and my pet to solo a single boss.

I don't think solo farming is totally gone- they've just made it more of a challenge. I have done it several times with my warrior/monk and it seems to work well but it takes longer to farm. The annoying thing about farming is that things will now run when they are low on health- which can be problematic in open areas with lost of space to run around. I've found that the farming run in Gates of Kryta with Hellhounds seems to be ok and has yielded a lot of great dye drops for me :)

I solo both UW and FoW (see my sig for guide on FoW) with my ranger. Very nice when you're saving up for a set of obsidian armor ^^

I've been solo'ing with my Derv character. A lot of people don't like to with those, but I find that keeping a skill like Crippling Sweep does nicely against those buggers that wanna run away.

Darkyoshiwar, no offense, but it's quite possible that with a limited number of skills, that the build was recreated purely by coincidence. Not a lot of skills can be grouped with others to be effective.
