From a post earlier today by CoH Rep Cricket it looks like we are going to recieve I8 tomorrow.

I've never don't the bank mission for Hero so I can't wait to try it solo. They can't be THAT hard, I am the awesome and nothing will stop me!

A) to Red knight: solo, lowest diff, KEEP MOVING. I ran one on test before they changed it around a bit, but i think the idea is the same. don't waste time, just get straight to the bank. They SAY that once you enter, you get 5 min or so before everything 'starts' but i wouldn't trust that.
Once you get inside the bank, there's a few of the robbing enemy right there. defeat them, and venture further into the bank. The heist guys will then come running from the vault. I am not sure if they will stop and attack you or not. if they don't, you'll have to run with them and kill them. They will exit the bank and head to their transport. if one of the group gets to the transport, mish failed. once you dispatch the heist group, the mish will complete. you then have the option to do all the other stuff: street sweeping, defending the stuff from other enemies in the hotspots, finding the keys, and doing the side missions.
i think it's going to be a challenge, but it will probably become easier as time goes along.
B) blasted devs. "Our normal maintenance window is 8CST to 10CST" and that it could be expanded... who would have figured that they'd expand it ONE HOUR EARLIER. downtime has started at 7 am CST. There's a patch already available for download. Kind of small, but it's probably just the activation code for I8 stuff.
I8 is a comin'.

Spend the day at work having had a really bad nights sleep (2 hours tops) and find out that the EU servers are currently DOWN. Expected 'live' time for I8 is 4.30pm on the EU servers, which is about 10.30am CST.
Expect laggy responses from the police band missions, expect multiple instances of Faultline.
Expect Icon to be PACKED and everyone to be wearing a trenchcoat and shades and calling themselves variations of Neo before they get generichero1138'd for copyright of a name and look.
I'm going to take my time over this, trenchcoats and wings... Think that with a freebie in Icon and the facemaker I am going to redesign my MM costume first. Then I'll hit Faultline for a look round (ok badge whoring alert!!) and then a PB mission.
Enjoy it guys, only 3 hours and I can go home and go to sleep.... for an hour... or nine.

10:30 am CST, eh? anybody remember what happened when I7 came out? some servers came up right on time.. and some (COUGH VICTORY COUGH) were down for an additional 6 hours.
but, eh. I just wanted to move my heroes to atlas before maintanence started so the safeguard missions wouldn't be out of order. oh, well.
Did a little looking: apparently, there's been a change to Safeguard missions now; if the heist guys see you, they will stop and attack. just make sure you're not shooting them in the back.
also, the 'vandals' (which i believe to be the hotspot guys)won't cost you time now. probably just gain time if you stop them. So, i think the only way you could lose time is if the enemy group that are randomly stationed around the mission attack stuff. other than that, i don't see anyway to lose time (well, lose huge chunks of it).

Finally downloaded my patch for the patch.
And man I hope your right DC, those safeguards were tough. It could of just been my Rep level and being 50 but before I even go to the bank they were 90% of the way gone. I couldnt even find them tell I caught the last one in a trail. I started to knock him out but it booted me saying mission failed. Would be nice if they actually came back to stop you or at least put up a fight.
When you do the villain version you cant just high-tail it for the door. You have to fight, no way out of it.

i finally figured out why they waited until today to go live with i8!!!
Yesterday, November 27th, I became eligible for the 1 year veteran rewards! They just wanted to make sure I got my first year under my belt and I didnt have to wait for it!
