I'm doing some research on the economics of online games and I wanted to get some opinions on one of the more controversial aspects, real money trading. I imagine RMT isn't common in CoH because there's not much to trade, but I could be wrong. I don't expect people to admit to trading, just curious about opinions.
Also, as part of my research, I'm also doing a survey (link at the bottom). It's only for people who have either bought or sold virtual items with real money. So if you have a few minutes, I'd appreciate you filling it out. If you don't know the answer to a question, just guess, I'd rather have a bad guess than no response.

What course is this for? I have a BA in Economics myself and wish I would have been able to do something like this for class. It seems like a great idea to research.

I went ahead and did you survey. Wasnt hard, took less than 5 minutes. No invasive questions or such, mostly yes or no or provide a number.
If any of you members felt leary of taking it, I wouldnt, it was safe and no problem.

There was a really interesting interview with Terry Gross on NPR week before last about this very issue. I would take a look at the NPR archive as well to see if you can get this as the person she was interviewing had just written a book on this very subject that could provide some great source material for you.
