Has anyone heard if they are planning a Holiday event again this year?
I would love for my low level toons to get the jet pack again...

I have yet to hear anything about a holiday event. Time is drawing very close and if we get one it should be within the next two weeks.
I check the main boards everyday and no hint or anything from the devs (or for that matter community reps). I cant imagine why they wouldnt hold another one. Maybe we will get back the Winter Lords....mmmmmm.....xp goodness!

2004 had one with MANY Winter lords, literally one on every corner. I leveled Silver Shadoww from 8 to 22 in a day and a half IIRC. The problem with 6that was you had newbs who suddenly had decent level toons and had no idea how to use them. Last years winter event was decidedly muted comparatively.

A winter event similar to last year's would be cool.
Actually, with the altered experience from giant monsters (done in Issue 4, I believe), even a winter event like the 2004 one wouldn't be bad. You don't get the kind of experience from giant monsters that you used to, so it would really be fine.

I could of swore I saw a pic by a member of some holiday colored jet pack but I maybe mistaken. Let me see if I can find it.

You can see the person on the left side has some holiday colored pack on his back but Im not sure if its this years or maybe last years. It could just be leftover for all we know but here is hoping.

YES...in Positrons interview with w00tradio.net he announced not only will we get this xmas, er, HOLIDAY event this year but b4 the year is out another Double XP weekend will happen...on the subject of the "holiday" event its on test atm but anyone know when it may go live? i dont know how long the last two lasted for.

I heard rumors they wished for another XP weekend by the end of the year but then they started to say that two events couldnt happen at the same time. So Winter Event and Double XP Weekend Event couldnt be the same. Im not sure how that works or such. I also know that they didnt want to hold it over any holidays because not everyone tends to be home and dont want players to miss out on it bcz they were at Grandma's house for 3 of the 4 days.
I would love for Double XP, its the only way I got my MM from 20 to 30 something. The year is growing close so I doubt we get to see one but here is hoping. As for Winter event, we should get it w/n the next week to week 1/2. They definitely should have it to us by Xmas which is nearly 3 weeks away (give or take a day or so). Then it should run to no later than 1st of the year. One would suspect. So if Im guessing right we should get this event for about 2 to 3 weeks all in all which means we would get no later then end of next week? Im tired, its late...I think Im guessing.

Let's see if they remembered my suggestion of putting Salvation Army bellringers in front of major enhancement stores. We need to raise more influence for the poor this Holliday season.

I'm trying to remember if the Holiday event last year ran past Xmas or not. If it doesn't this year, they could put the double XP weekend afterward.
Well, wether or not it appears this year or the next, we can expect over filled servers

Are they definitely going to do another double XP soon? I could really use the boost to get a level 50 villain to match my hero.

yes, last year's winter event ran till about the 2nd of Jan, if i remember.
at this rate, i would not expect a double-xp weekend again until next year. it's a shame, but when i'm offered between rare event-badges, and xp, i'll take the badges, thanks.

I doubt as well that we wont get another this year. As much as they said they wanted another I doubt it. Look at how long it took I8 to go Live.
Anymore I doubt time for anything in CoH, it would almost be safe to say if they give us to a date for something to add 1month to 2 on it....ok that may be a lil too less time.

that would be really cool. have whoever wants donate some inf in there and any toon can take say $1000 out once every hour or something like that.
that way its a small amount over a time period so it wouldnt run dry as quickly. and even if you just stand there or run from salvo to salvo you cant take any out until the next hour.

2004 winter event i was around for that, i had only had the game like a week too lol, but even though i was still a noob im a fast and good learner and so i took full advantage of the winter lord event, and i have the toon on the UK servers now to prove it woo.
remember for the 1st week you could hardly find one, all everyone wanted was the snowball powers, by the end of the 2nd week there were 2 - 4 in any given zone, and you could kill these things with a good 8 man team. so the xp was super, and also i think it was bugged anyway so you got way too much for them.
the mid lvl noobs got on my nerves though.

what i really want is for there to be snow everywhere, and the lakes and ponds to become ice. also, there could be slippery patches on the roads! yeah, and snowfall would make some good pics, and if you wore clothes that didnt cover you you could get frostbite lol.
