Sweet! The wait is almost over. Gamestop, Bestbuy and Fry's now have pre-order boxes. The pre-order box has some nice goodies:
- Early access to the game! Log on and get a jump start up to three days prior to the official launch!
- A special account key that will grant you a unique exclusive in-game scroll, allowing your character to sprint for longer periods of time due to an endurance buff (one per account).
- An invitation to the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes beta (for eligible participants).
- Guild Mail – a fun recruitment tool to help you build your guild before launch!
- A king’s ransom of assets, including videos, wallpapers and screenshots
And I am so lucky I am in states right now, so I can actually pick up a box before I head back home. According to Sigil they went on sale on 5th of December. I will post after lunch if that is true.

Great news, but why does this have to happen at the same time EQ2 is going so well, and Archlord has gone free oh and money is tigher than ever. Hmmmm gotta find a way to make this one work, hee hee. Thanks again for the updated and this section has been far to quiet thanks for kickstarting it a bit as well.

It does seem they went on sale December 5th. "The boxes should be available starting December 5th, depending on the retailer." Is what the official site says.
And I wouldn't worry if you can't get it right now, Mikester. You still have a bit of time before the launch.

Hmm, Sigil seems to be more excited about this than GameStop or BestBuy. I visited three stores and they all gave me the look as if I am from another planet. Even online neither stores mentions anything about it yet.

Funds are really tight for me at this time but I think if I have an ebay garage sale I might just come through on the funding to squeek this one through the miser filter. :P

I preordered my copy of the collectors edition a few months ago. I guess I need to call up the Gamestop where I work and make sure they rememered to hold mine.

Also MMORPG.com is having a big contest where they are giving away a lot of gaming goodness from the low end a copy of Matrix Online all the way up to P4 Dual core cpu's, a custom painted computer, and hey I am not greedy a collectors/guild copy of Vanguard would be just the very best in my book. :)

I'm sure the special edition pre-order box will cost a pretty penny. I think I might just get the regular one and just skip the first three days of play. The first week of launch is going to be chaos anyway.

Ok, just a little note on the preorder packages, I guess they are just now getting them at the distribution point for Gamestop and they plan to have them to the stores for the people that already preordered by the 20th or so, maybe sooner.
So, if you got your preorder from Gamestop, make sure you put a bug in that store's manager's ear to keep a hold of one for you.
As for the price of the game, the special edition (collector's edition, or whatever they're calling it these days) is going to be $100. What can I say, I'm a sucker but that's the one I preordered. Now to figure out where I'm going to come up with 100 big ones.
