What does everyone think about Martial Arts Scrappers? I have played around with them before, but never for long. How are they compared to other Scrappers in the higher levels?

MA scrappers are pure single target death dealers. We have one AoE attack and its better suited for knockback than damage. More or less crowd control if some persons get to touchy feely.
Alot of the attacks have knockback effects or stuns to them. You can deal fast, heavy damage but you do use up end likes its nothing. My secondary is SR but Regen/MA may be nice since (correct me if Im wrong) that you can stack Recovery (if thats the end reduce power name) and Stamina. Those two benefits would greatly help you. All in all a fun build, nice damage, and you look so cool when you attack. Eagle's Claw...so beautiful to behold. If you are ever on Truimph and you see me on let me know. I can give you a demo of what the attacks look like...maybe an idea of what damage potential can do.

Auto... it lets you put more rounds down range. |

Your right Griff, My main is MA/Regen and I have health and stamina. I'll be the first to tell that my end and health come back faster than I can use em up. Total overwhelming power, I can play hard and have np tanking for my team if a tanker can't be found. I also love to set up my kicks to throw people off buildings or over railings or through windows, it just adds a little spice to the life of my hero. I like when someone else does a move to knock the guy up and then I can kick him in the air and shoot him down the hall.

Thanks guys, they do look very cool. I was thinking of Invulnerably for my secondary. My 50 has Regen and I want to do something different. Every sense I retired him I've been trying every class under the sun, but none of them ever stuck. So I'm just going back to my roots and making another Scrapper.

I have to say MA is awesome. I made a MA/SR scrapper and the man is a dmg machine! I got him to 14 in a couple of days and their is nothing better than landing 3 kicks in a row and seeing some mob just drop like a stone, I agree that this build is an end hog(atleast pre-stamina) and I've grouped with lvl a 50 MA/Regens that just run around with SS and every other toggle under the sun and never, ever lose end. However I think just for the whole look of MA there is nothing better that your Super Reflexes making you dodge every attack coming at you, and your toon just dipping and dodging out of the way and then WHAMMY Crane Kick to the face and they just fly away and hit a wall. On a sidenote I have a 50 invul tanker. I would go with SR, Regen, or even Dark over Invul for a Scrapp. Regen for the end save, SR since you can't be slowed and you have like 4 auto powers, which I find amazing and Elude doesn't leave you drained of health like Unstoppable will. Dark I say mainly because it offers Psionic protection, just take Super Jump and Acrobatics to avoid knockback. That's just the opinion of someone whose used invul and is loving MA/SR. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Well I started 2 MA scrappers, one with Inv and the other with SR. It looks like I will be sticking to SR. He's now level 10 and I like him a lot. The animation of the two does seem to be made for each other. I've seen the higher level MA attacks while playing my 50 on high level teams, I just can't wait to be able to perform those attacks myself.
Thanks for the info guys.

one of my 50's is ma/regen. I made him before they nerfed the regen. Sadly, I respec'd him using my vet rewards respec and messed him up...
Regen is an amazing set, it has 2 powers (1 toggle 1 auto) that basically make you resilient against everything. One thing that would be really cool on the ma side, like a katana and bs scrapper build...if they made it where powers like thunder kick, storm kick, and cobra strike would stack defense on each successful hit.
wow, i really wanna rebuild my scrapper now. :P

MA/SR Scrappers really do rock. My main Speed Trap has just dinged 50, and he has always impressed my team mates.
I used all the pure damage attacks:
Thunder Kick
Storm Kick
Crane Kick (tremendous knockback)
Dragon's Tail (Melee AoE, great for softening mobs as you pound bosses.
Eagle's Claw (your flashy high damage attack)
Focus Chi (greatly enhances your damage for a few seconds).
I didn't get focus chi until lvl 49 I think, I found it kinda useless before then.
I have all SR powers, and I recommend getting them all, because I found everyone of them useful. Practiced brawler is a must get ASAP. Because you have a few toggles, that get dropped if you get stunned or held, and then you die real fast.
End usage does become a problem, so you have to slot right and know which toggles you need as you fight. Get Conserve Power too. Elude is your uber power, and will stay active through most AV battles, or if all your team mates fall, you can hit elude and clear out 3 or 4 mobs by yourself before you run out of all end, then you just pop a few blues, bring up your toggles, and you're good to go again.
The thing about SR to keep in mind is that you can pretty much dodge every attack, but when you do get hit it really can hurt, cause you take full damage. So sometimes the numbers are against you, and you will die with a few hits.
Other than that, have fun being a Scrank.
CoH Rocks
Blasters kill everything, usually before they get killed themselves. When it comes to dealing pain, a blaster has no equal. We just have a hard time taking our own medicine! So we love Tanks and 'fenders!

I'm glad this topic came up. After watching one of Ben Stiller's best performances, I decided to make a MA/SR scrapper by the name of Derek Zoolander. and if that name is taken either Brint, Meecus, Rufus, or Mugatu and either take the epic set of gasolene mastery or orangemochafrappachino mastery.
But seriously, if anyone can find a few pictures of possible Zoolander costumes, i'd appreciate it :)
My name is Jean Claude Van Damme and I dance for you...

I have a 50 MA/SR which was my first toon and still play him quite a bit....Love that toon. PvP he rarely gets held and deals quite alot of dmg in missions.
