possible dervish builds

i was wondering if this would be a very good farming build. i know someone said that they would make there Dervish an AoE monster, so im gonna try and make one.

D/E
attributes:
Mysticism: 12+1
Fire magic: 12
Scythe mastery: all the rest

1) Pious Assault *Eremite's Zeal*
2) Heart of Holy Flame
3) Grenth's Fingers *Vital Boon*
4) Avatar of Balthazar
5) Firestorm
6) Pheonix
7) Fire Attunement
8) Faithful intervention *zealous renewal*

this is actually a build i had thought of trying since day one of making my dervish. basically you cast Faithful intervention and Fire Attunement before each fight. you might want to try adding +energy mods to your armor as well. next you cast HoHF then grenth's fingers to do both Fire AoE and Cold AoE damage. next you use pious assault twice, removing both HoHF and Grenth's Fingers. when Grenth's Fingers ends you crippled 9 seconds, slowing any runners. when HoHF ends all nearby foes are set on fire for 3 seconds doing some pretty impressive damage. the best part is you will gain 13 health and 4 energy whenever an enchantment ends, so pious will almost pay for itself. it also instanstly recharges if an enchantment ends, so it can be spammed fairly well.

Next i have a runner build planned out. This build i plan on using in GvGs or just plain old running. It utilizes dervish and Ranger skills to capture the flag quickly and efficiently.

1) Chilling Victory
2) Avatar of Melandru
3) Troll Ungent
4) Storm Chaser
5) Harrier's Haste
6) Featherfoot Grace
7) ?
8) Rez Signet

you can put whatever you want to into the 7th slot, it doesnt necessarily matter. apply poison would be a good option though. Basically most Dervish runners think that Avatar of Balthazar is a better running form because it makes you move faster. But Melandru gives you +200 health and immunity to conditions. Between Storm Chaser, Harrier's Haste, and Featherfoot Grace you should always have a +movement skill on you. also after you have taken the flag chilling victory should be pretty useful since with Melandru's +health bonus it will be very likely that you will have more health than your opponent.

I know that these builds do not seem very practical, but thats what i was going for. i realized that since the Dervish is a relativly new profession i am just trying to come up with some unique builds, like the 55 monk or the IW mesmer. i know that these builds probably will not be nearly as useful, but its always worth a try.

i would also like to request that someone please post a team oriented dervish build for RA, its really making me mad not being able to unlock TA. last night was the most frustrating because two different teams i was on had 4 consecutive wins ><

Thank you in advance

RE: possible dervish builds

These builds look great, but on the first one you might have some energy management issues if you are looking to spam the AoE spells. Attunement will help, but I'm not sure if it would be enough. Since it is a solo build, perhaps you could replace a skill with Eremites Zeal.

Eremites Zeal (5/1/4)
Lose 1 Enchantment. You gain 1...5 Energy for each adjacent foe (maximum 15 energy) Attribute: Mysticism

This would rip off an enchantment causing damage to all nearby enemies as well as help you maintain you energy supplies. Hope you find this useful.

Also, it will probably need a selfheal I'd suggest...

Dwayna's Touch(5/.75/2)
Spell. Target touched ally is healed for 15...51 Health for each Enchantment on you (maximum 150). (Wind Prayers)

RE: possible dervish builds

When I first started playing with dervish farming when nightfall came out I was wondering about the idea of Live Vicariously/Vig Spirit combo with a scythe + attack boost. Works quite well.

I like the possible idea of Mark of Rodgort + Fiery Scythe, that could be a fun little burning spreader. :P

RE: possible dervish builds

Hey,

I tried many combos for a Boss farming build and for the past couple of days i have bin using this D/W build i put together. Its basicaly a Ripost dervish build.

Ripost {Dmg Dealer}
Deadly Ripost {Dmg Dealer}
Watch yourself {+20 armor}
Healing signet {healing}
Avatar of Balthazars {+40 armor}
Conviction {+24 armor or +3 health regen}
Vital Boon {+80 health and when removed healed for 150}
Signet of Piety {enchant remover}

I have a Sword with +33% Bleeding and +7armor(vs physical), and a shield (tactics).

Put Tactics at 12 and Mysticism at 16 (Myst headpeace+3 rune) and the rest in Earth Prayers with a +1 rune.

First use ure hero's and hench to kill all the mobs except the boss and put the hero's out of radar range till there names gray out.
Run up to the Boss and b4 u aggro cast Convition, Vital Boon and Balthazar.
Now start attacking the boss and cast Deadly Ripost as soon as u have enuff adrenaline cast Watch yourself and Ripost.
keep the enchants on u all the time and use healing signet.
if u get into trouble use Signet of Piety to remove Vital Boon so u will be healed for another 150 orso but always cast Convition b4 Vitalboon so u keep the +24 armor or +3 health regen.

Its not perfect but i have farmed a great number of melee bosses with this build where my health never got lower then 50-60%.
Energy has never bin a problem as u never get below 15 energy.

Grtz

Whacky.
