Build for a scrapper?!?!?

hey fellow ampers, can anyone make a build for a scrapper?
any powers would be fine, but the spine scrapper, i dont like it

this is not really a build but i thoght dark/reg scraps were fun and ma/anything is fun 2 :P

ya but when u do smite and get critical its a 1 shot most of the time !! :P

crane kick is pretty good, but i dont think it one-shots with a critical. ive been working on an idea for a speedster scrapper, with dark melee smite and shadow maul, then flurry and sands of mu for a super-speedful attack chain! then i just fill the rest of the slots with shields.

claws= low damage fast recharge and low end useage
dark=damage normal recharge and with regs end low end :P

Go MA/SR....and you can one shot w/ Crane Kick. I could do it to Even level LTs and minions. It doesnt happen alot but its possible. I wanna say that I even one shot +1's w/ Crane Kick and Eagle's Claw (not at same time...different times that is).

I have always wanted to try a Dark Scrapper but when I was doing my 1st scrap alot of players claimed the set to be broke and many of the powers didnt work as intended. I believe they have been fixed. Maybe its time to try another one. Some of the defenses have nice AoE side effects, as do the attacks themselves.

I rolled a Claw/Regen and he is/was pretty good. Very high DPS. Remember, they gave some love to the Claws set a bit ago that helped increase the DPS even more. I'd say you can roll one bask in the joy. It has AoE and Ranged attacks for those ocassional runners.

Now, on the other hand, my first ever toon was a MA/Regen and he is just the best ever (may he rest in peace). He was built to be a one shot animal and that he does quite well.

Haven't played around with the DM set, so no info to provide there.

The top 2 builds, Claws or MA, you can't go wrong with either one. Just remember, MA offers more of a 1 hit heavy damage approach (lower DPS, and uses more End) while Claws offers more of a constant attack chain (higher DPS, uses less end-which is good in long fights).

No pressure to choose either one, just try them both.

MA is VERY end intense. The best way to counter that is to go Regen with Stamina. It is a burst damage set with moderate DPS and a moderate amount of mitigation. Good for quick kills, but tends to slow down over the long run.

Claws is pretty end light. It has some good mitigation in Focus and Shockwave, both of which are ranged knockdown powers. It has low burst damage, which makes it hard to have quick kills, but with its fast recharges and low endurance, it can last well into the long fight with very little worries. This means its DPS, while poor in the short fight, becomes phenominal in the long run, especially when paired with SR (Quickness) or Regen (Quick Recovery).

As far as a secondary goes, I'd have to vote Regen. It's my personal fav, and has always managed to allow me to outsurvive most other scrappers, and even tankers. "Tank died? My Turn!" I've been known to say that with my spiner.

BTW, whats your issue with Spines? Good Burst damage, with pretty good mitigation and a nice range of toys. I've made 44 levels with a Spine/Regen, and amazed ppl with what I've been able to do. I've solo'd every AV (in EB form) that I've been given. Only needed a shivan twice (Envoy of Shadows and Anti-matter).

Anyway, SR is also a good set. It needs Stamina though, and performs best when you take every power in it, which is somewhat of a deterent. It also has a harder time earlier, as its defense relies on toggles. You'll either have less defense for your offense, or be sucking wind every other fight or so.

I'd go Claws/Regen, but hey, thats me. Whatever you go with, if you need help with a build, I'll be glad to give you a hand.

All this scrapper talk made me want to make a new one so I did...DM/DD or w/e the secondary is called. Add in my Vet Reward I can unleash 3 quick attacks and take down a foe or group pretty fast. I got level 4 in 45 minutes and last powet took was Death Shroud, hopefully it will be a nice bonus and take down the health of enemies all that much faster.

And for Spines, I had a spines/regen that was level 18 or such before I deleted him. I kept dying because I tried to push the limit way too much with him. Thats what I get for running around Steel like a madman trying to fight more than 6 +2 mobs. But against enemies of similar level they can be devastating and really kill...errr....arrest people hella fast. Maybe I should make another...hmmm...ok back to drawing board.

MA/Regen is an excellent combo. My toon is level 44 and is like a tank. I also have a Claws/Regen scrapper who can take down boss's with no problem what-so-ever. Just have to be careful of going against large groups by yourself.

I also have a speed based toon that is in the 20's. He has the first 3 or four attacks in the darkness attack powers. And then for the secondary uses SR. He started out kind of squishy but is now able to hold his own.

Katana and broadsword are good attacks powers. And spines seems to be popular with people also, but I have only played my spines toon to level 2. Scrappers are by far my fav AT to play. They can deal alot of damage and be made to withstand a great deal inflicted on them.

Just my two cents.

Since Katanas haven't had much mention, except in passing, let me say that my first Level 50 character was a Katana/Super Reflexes scrapper. Katana deals good damage with a nice -Defense secondary (makes it easier to hit on subsequant attacks). When coupled with SR, it works pretty nicely.

Dark Melee and Super Reflexes also have good synergy. Dark Melee lowers the accuracy of the targets and Super Reflexes increases your defense. Good combination for not getting hit.

Hiya,

My main is a DM/Regen.. and I love her. I still play her quite frequently in Sirens..( aaahhh retirement is awesome! )

In PvE the smite, shawdow maul, shawdowpunch, Air superiorty chain is very nice. Pick up quick recovery early and slot it well.

I didnt pick up ToF till later on..wish I had eariler..it has become a good friend in both PvE & PvP. Awesome crowd control in PvE... Really really annoying to others in PvP.. =) (not as annoying as stoopid stalkers.. or doms w/ repel... stoopid repel)

I saw others mention flurry.. I found it to be repetative w/ not enough damage. IMO i would skip it.

Having playing some other sets of the scrapper what I found to be a draw backs is DM has no Build Up.. Broard Sword is nice on the damage output, but recharge time is a killer even w/ haste, Haven't PvP w/ her yet, but am looking foreward to seeing how she does.I am a more in your face kinda gal. When u hurt I want you to see who made u hurt!

I just rolled up a MA/SR.. so I wanna see how crazy I can get w/ her.

I soloed a lot with Detra.. when I did team it was far and few in PvE, and when I did, my SG commander always was telling me to slow down....lol..but it was always cool being rite next to the tank. Alone, I always going... really no down time.. And being a regen.. cant tell ya the last time I hit rest.

Now on the flip side, Detra's evil clone is a DM/regen stalker.. very high end killer since quick recovery is not in the regen set on villians side. I find myself waiting too much to rebuild end & health..( stoopid stalker )

If I could ever figure out how to do the upload my build thingy I would post it here.

I have a lvl 50 MA/SR and love that toon.

Working on Spines/Invul atm and he is 31...was a bit rougher getting him to 30 than the MA/SR, plenty of debt but I love scrappers...for me they are a blast to play.

I have Dar/Regen and I have to say regen rocks and dark melee sucks. Sorry for all those who love it, but it just doesn't have enough pure attacks for my tastes. If you like controllers get dark melee. Otherwise go with something else. Claws regen will be very good on end and good damage throughout. I'd say thats a good choice.

I've got a Dark/Regen that I love. Got her to 32 running mostly solo at higher difficulties. She's awesome.

I also have a Dark/Dark right now. He's only 11, but I like him so far.

I've tried MA/DA and MA/Regen. Nothing wrong with the MA set by itself, I just couldn't get a concept I liked to work with the set. I tend tot be very concept/story driven when it comes to character creation.

I ran a Spines/SR for a while in my early days of the game. He was fun, but I don't like the visuals with Spines. I just can't get used to looking like a porcupine.

I've done Katana/Regen. Just got bored. Nothing wrong with it specifically. In fact, if I remade her (or just rolled one) on Triumph, I might actually enjoy it.

I made an attempt at DM/SR. I got busy with alts on my main server and so he sits, unloved, unused...and most likely with not a single point of END.

I have a DM/SR Scrapper that to be quite honest sucked until I hit Soul Steal(i think its 26)now he is one of my favorite characters to play. I haven't really taken anything but the usual fitness and Super Jump powerset, but honestly it was rough in the early levels and I oft considered deleteing him on several occasions out of frustration but i will deffinately say once you hit soul steal it is the bread and butter of that power set In my opinion. Now i love jumping into mobs of like 15-18 bad guys and just soul steal then take over half the group down before you can say ...(insert crazy toungue twister here)

again that is just my expierience, a friend of mine on the other hand swears by spines and hates DM, so i would assume it would all be dependent on your play style and what you like
