What is the best corrupter?

i am making a corrupter soon. I need to know which is overall the best. I need to know.

I am not sure about the best, but I would say that an ice/dark corruptor is very fun to play. If you ask the Boss (that would be BishopDon) he would say dark/dark but that is only cause he hasnt seen the light yet. :P

Personally, I would just go with what powers suit you best, excluding strength and secondary effects...

BUT, I've been disliked for saying that before XD

Well, if by best, you mean most damage, then I'd go with Fire/Fire.

If survival, I'd go with Dark/Dark or Ice/Ice [MyPersonalFavourite]

of Course, combine as you wish ^^

From a PvP perspective, Ice or Fire for the primary will do well. Rad, Kin, Sonic, and Thermal also all perform well.

Well..heh..i'm also going to say that it's whatever suits the character best x_x. in the damage perspective, the heck if I know. I just work with what I have, and be happy.

If you want a Damage build, I would recommend going with Fire/Traps or Energy/Traps (I love Traps secondary, Trip Mines and Time Bomb are a blast... literally).

If you're looking for a PvP build, anything with Ice as your secondary will work very well. I would recommend Ice/Ice or Fire/Ice for PvP.

For a Debuffer build (there are very few of these out there and they are sorely needed) you can go with Rad or Sonic as primary and Rad or Kin as secondary. (Radiation primary debuffes DEF and Sonic primary debuffes RES, I love my 29 Sonic/Kin)

Healer builds can be a little boring, but you'll find groups very easily. For a healer I would go with Dark/Thermal. Kin and Radiation secondaries also have heals, but Thermal has a single-target heal that is necessary for higher levels.

I will take everyone elses word for the good PvP build, but I like any combination of Radiation and Dark for PvE. Rad/Rad, Rad/Dark, Dark/Rad, or Dark/Dark to Debuff the Freedom Phalanx in the LRSF, and get the SHO's. So which is best? Getting SHO's or PvP Rep? I guess that is up to the individual.

Depends on your playstule, for offence, dark or rad, for more of a team build ice (primary only so far) for solo energy (good knockback, will save your life but pretty much an end muncher) for differance, go fire and assult rifle if you love guns i guess;

Secondarey, dark, fire or rad all the way, but i also love kinetics,

Sonic and cold if you wana team but cant be assed with healing. Traps to be different, but there isnt much love there...

PvP or LRSF? PvP builds are designed to nerf the foe to the point that kills are quick and sleazy, while making it as tough for the enemy to kill you at the same time. Sounds just like what you want for AV/Hero fighting. PvP builds are usually the best at taking down Heroes and AVs. That said, for either, Ice or Fire Primary, and Rad or Kin secondary will do the job. My vote? Ice/Kin, the slows stack very well.

Well, I've found that it is actually not a bad build for a Corruptor. The key to this build is playing on the -Acc debuff (if they can't hit you, they can't hurt you). Plus you get the greatest DeBuff in the whole entire game, Howling Twilight, Nuff said.

However, as for overall play, the other recommendations seem to be on point as well (haven't played with fire, haven't slid past ice either). I've toyed with Rad and Kin though and they are pretty nice. Traps just couldn't capture my attention, so I never used them.

I'd say, look into something that includes either Dark, Kinetics or Radiation. These are 3 of the best Debuffing/Buffing sets for Corruptors, IMO that is.

Actually, while HT is a team rez, its also an autohit mezz with a heavy set of debuffs. -Spd, -Rech, -Regen, and a fair chance to Stun the targeted foe. So, umm, yeah, he was right, in a sense.

Hey Hell, go try it out, it works like a charm. Darkest Night is great as well, but you just don't get the multiple Debuff like HT gives you.

Well, grow him up man!!!! You don't know what you're missing. You can literally stun an entire mob briefly and make them all move very, very slowly, like Tar Patch and it causes some damage as well. When possible, grab HT and you'll see why I fell in love with Dark.

My first ever corruptor was energy/dark. I managed to get him up to level 35 before I had to switch accounts, but I remade him. I still love playing the guy. He is great with teams and solo. Howling Twilight is indeed a great debuff and the others of the set are great too. HT is a fantastic resurrection ability, as you can resurrect your entire team with one shot. If you do get the dark set and enjoy teaming alot, I would recommend also getting recall friend, as this allows for you to align fallen teammates so that you can resurrect them all at once.
I also have built a sonic/kinetic corruptor that I play a ton. Kinetics is a secondary that will make you very popular in teams, but be prepared to constantly hear "sb plz" from your teammates. Kinetics is great for PvE especially at higher levels in that you can set up a power chain for your nova that can annihilate entire mobs at a time. Aim, Fulcrum Shift, Nova anyone?

Heh, any Kin I play, I tell the team from the start that I know how great SB is, and I'll do my best to keep it on them, but I have more powers than just SB, that are just as good. I'm also usually more accomodating, and will dish out SB when I'm asked for it, especially when its been a while since I last sent out a round. Personally, I, and many other Kins, I'm sure, would love it if the Devs doubled the duration on SB, so we spend less time dishing it out, and more time using our other powers.

ok my nrg/ kin is prbly the highest in prestige because he is high in demand mainly for the sb, fs. I think if i could redo his primary i would of course go with Ice/kin for pvp reasons. Ice slows and yuor very own speed boost will slow a single target making stone tanks (or brutes) very sad. In later levels corruptors turn the tides on high damage resistant builds because of the ability to heal ur self(which is now what i refer to as my own personal damage resistance) Add haste to that and you can dish out the slow and then damage like it was thanksgiving, with room for seconds. This build is still ownable by large grooups but itll give the missions spice and PVPrs a big headache. I love my kin and the prior quote about nrg having nice KB is very true. KB can save your but it has mine so have fun what ever you choose and pick a build you will like to play.(very key with Corrs and gets long on the solo days)

I personally have a Fire/Rad corrupter that in my opinion, kicks ass since it debuffs and just kills with the fire attacks. Its all up to what you like best.

Its not the best damage dealer tho. Dark debufffs atk Rad debuff mostly def. Would you want to kill them faster or make them hurt you not as much? You decide

Well, that's what happens when you deal in the Dark arts....

Dark/Dark Corr FTW!!!!

I would like them to deal less damage while I sit and pick them apart, piece by stinking piece!

And for the record, Dark may not deal the most damage, but don't be fooled, it does enough damage to get the job done! If I can take down 2 +2 Bosses, solo, without any untimely deaths, then I'm guessing the damage is not that bad (it's just the -def Rad does that gives the illusion they do a lot of damage).

I have a level 34 Rad/Kin and he doesn't do nearly as much damage as an Ice Blast or Fire Blast Corruptor. Besides, the -def effect of Radiation Blast doesn't increase the damage you deal. That has to do with resistance, and Radiation Blast only debuffs defence. Which makes them easier to hit.

I would personally recommend Ice Blast/Radiation Emission or Fire Blast/Kinetics or any combination of those. They're good. And fun to play. Especially Kinetics.
