man i did not think ppl be this friendly they wernt like this on my last game swg star wars galaxies but this game seems to be alot better so the makers of the game do they make bad misstakes on my last game the ppl hated the developers and to answer yuor question ill be getting it dec 25 is the roleplay good i wanted to know if this the kind of game you could really get into man i cant wait to play :):):):):):) sorry if im asking to many questions im just a lil excited about the game

1st off, Welcome to the site!
Secondly, yes, we are all very friendly here. The same may not be true of the rest of the CoX community, but you can always expect us to be nice, courteous, and friendly. We expect it of all members.
Now, if you want RP, Virtue is the unofficial RP server. It's also my home server, so if you decide to go there, I'd be more than happy to help you out in any way.
Most of us also have a character or two on Triumph, because thats the "official" Gameamp server. We have a Hero SG, as well as a Villain SG there. We also have a global chat channel set up, to allow us to all chat together, regardless of server.
Anywho, again, welcome to the site, and can't wait to see ya in game, bro!

My powers? Amazingly Good Looks, Incredible Ability to Charm All the Ladies, and a Superhuman.....umm, nevermind that one....heheh.....ummm.....yeah.....
Anyway, my main is a lvl 50 Fire/Fire/Flame Blaster. I also have a 44 Spine/Regen/Body Scrapper that I really like, and that will be my next lvl 50 character.
I also have played almost every set in the game, and those I haven't, I've seen ingame or read up on. I read alot of guides on these and the official boards, and have a Hero Builder downloaded (from http://sherksilver.coldfront.net) that I work with often, to design builds for myself and others. I'm also kinda the resident PvP expert, in a sense, and as such I have alot of info about that aspect of the game, if you are interested.
So yeah, when it comes to powers, I know quite a bit about them. Feel free to ask me anything, I'm always here to help.

Welcome hero, tell us - what servers do you play on and what name(s) do you go by?
I could recommend that you make at least 1 toon on Triumph for Gameamp official things, but if you want alot of activity seek other servers with more active and open groups of players.
I play mostly on Virtue, Freedom, Triumph, and Liberty pretty much in that order. Its nice to have a toon you like on a little used server for those weekends when the genius at NCSoft/Cryptic do things like a major upgrade, holiday event, free weekend for anyone who has heard of the game, and some server down time all at the same time ;-)
Most of my toons are identifiable by Del in the name somewhere either forwards or backwards.

i havent played yet but i will on december 25 my frist toons name is going to be gravity lord and im thinking of choseing the virtue server as my first server seems like a good place to start cool heros lots of rp oppertunity and im hopeing there are some lovely damsels in distres

Excellent choice!, be careful though some of those Damsels are not as innocent as you think.... And I assure you after a short time you will begin to suspect that your contacts are trying to get you whacked!
Send a tell when you get on and I'll watch for you - to do that in game type "/t, @Delphon, hey there!" in the chat box line and hit return. The "@" sign is a global meaning that if I am under another charactor name or on another server I will still receive the message... This will be handy for finding any hero you are looking for.

Well, Propel does the most damage, outright. But a controller is about more than damage. So lets see...
Gravity Distortion is your Single Target Hold. Fair amount of damage, easily stackable, makes foes unable to do anything. Thats devastating.
Gravity Distortion Field holds every foe it hits. Doesn't do much for damage, and doesn't stack, but can render a mob completely useless for a short period of time. Thats devastating.
Lift sends a foe into the air and slams them back down. Does ok damage, and while they are flying in the air and then trying to get back on their feet, they aren't attacking. Thats devastating.
Wormhole grabs a foe and brings him to you, and stuns him in the process. That could be devastating.
You see, almost every attack can be considered devastating. It's mostly a matter of what you want to get out of a power. You want pure damage? Go with a blaster or scrapper. You want survivability, go for a Tanker or Scrapper. You want damage mitigation, Tanker or Controller. You want buffing/debuffing, go Controller or Defender. Each AT has a job it does in a team, and while they can all fill multiple rolls, they serve the best in the roll they are designed for. A controller can buff/debuff like a defender, but defenders do it better earlier, and controllers will always do better mezzing.
So, if you wanna let me know what role you want to fill on a team, I'll be glad to help you decide what AT to choose, and then I can help you to find the powersets that go best with your playstyle. Find something that works well for you from the start, so you can learn more about the game and powersets, then you can make a more informed decision about what you like to play. I went 50 levels as a blaster, and I'm actually a scrapper at heart!

wow man its hard to chose there are so many powers im going to have to think about this i want to be a controler but i want to be able to kick bad guy butt hmm well ill try all the arch types out and see witch one i like btw this question has been in the back of my mind how come they didnt add shape shifting to the power lists

i found a way to make my controler not so well in lord star
wolfs words squshy i did what he did when he made a blapper
and now my charecter should be more tough and more able to fight solo and with a group

Which archetype... you should try a Broadsword/Regeneration/Body Mastery Scrapper! Extremely high damage, great survivability and good accuracy!
