hey i wanted to just open up a forum for anyone who wanted to tell a cool thing that they did in CoH/V, and we could just discuss them! or, if anyone has a cool power combo suggestion, then thats ok too. i just wanted to say that if you are a grav (or mind)/FF troller and have the Lift-type power and Force Bolt, lift them, then FB them and it makes for a very effective crowd control power. also, its pretty freaking hilarious.
ok so anyone can post whatever, so have at it! lol

I'll respond, because I have never had this happen.
Had a mayhem mish today (Talos) & our group consisted of 2 MMs (zombies & mercs) We got the loot, defeated the hero, freed the villain from jail, did all 3 side mishes, cleared the zone of every Long Bow & PPD PLUS cleared every destroyable item we could find. All that & we had almost 10 minutes of time left when we were done.
I was pretty damned impressed.
I did die twice ( once in ambush after breaking out of cell ) but recoupled all my debt & came out with over a bubble(nearly 2) of new XP.
I'm still impressed. I've have some specatcular mayhem failures, but never such a glorious success. Surely Lord Arachnos will take notice of me now!

I have been getting into playing the Gravity Controller. I enjoy the damage and containment they have and I love seeing what I am going to throw next with Propel.
Now with Issue 8, the Gravity controller throws even more stuff. I just find it hilarious.

OK ill throw my hat in the ring,
I have a lvl 38 stone/stone tank named Phat Daddy. I absolutly love his granite armor and can really get into the role of being an uber aggro tank. But being that the granite is so strong that even when the team gets overrun Phat is still standing with 20+ baddies on him long after the rest of the team gets rezzed or comes back from the hospital.
Anyways I descided a few months ago to see just how much abuse his granite form can take and thus took a stroll into warburg. I boldy walked out to the beach area where most of the melee tends to take place and before i know it i had 8+ people trying to pound me into pavement. After hitting rooted I just stood there and laughed. They barely made my health bar drop, which after a while they gave up and went back to fighting each other. Not to be deterred, I wanted to whip them into a frenzy so I resorted to trash talking. Yeah i know i wasn't proud of it, but it seemed the only way for them to turn their attention to me. After a few ambushes my stone tank was still standing tall and the others gave up.
Then I got a ray of hope. a /tell to me said "we'll help you" and suddenly i was enveloped with green radioactive light. Then before I knew it I got AS'd by 3 stalkers repeatedly. I hit rooted, and my sealf heal and the AS barrage continued. Being debuffed and taking that incredible amount of damage proved to be too much for even my almighty Phat Daddy and he fell. I actually thanked them for their great effort, and now quite happy that it took all that abuse for the Phat one to get defeated.

ok i got a power combo how to make a controler more like a blaster you use the fight power to make his defense stronger and his attack stronger and add mostly dmg buffs to your attacks so you will be much stronger than a normal controler here are my attack and defense work sheet

Hmm. Well...
Villain side, it's been fun on my brute because she's not squishy and I almost always play semi-squishy characters.
She can stand up to more abuse then anyone I regularly team with, and most people in random groups. She's not a good tanker though, so the party has died around me even as I'm womping on the bad (or good, usually bad though) guys.
Oh, and I soloed Indigo, Ice Mistral and Wretch as EBs with her, that made her feel especially indestructible.
Hero side, what I really love is playing my 'human' Peacebringer on a big team. It's not just the power it gives the PBs either.
You're fighting gross numbers of villains, your tanker is holding up well but your defender is getting worn down by range flak, so you toss him a heal, then move over and pulsar the small group thats getting too close to your blasters before finishing them off with your strong melee attacks. Then you can go back into the fray around the tanker, who is holding the AV and the majority of the villains, and help take them out by letting loose with a spread of photon seekers, your AoEs, and Dawn Strike.
Combine that with your leadership (buffs) and it really makes you feel great to be such a boon to your team.
The above has happened to me just like that, and it really makes you feel good to get compliments along the lines of 'Wow, I didn't know PBs could be good'.
--------
Edit: Gravity_Lord, I don't want to come off as negative but...that build will not work.
It's only successful at making you practically unkillable while all your defenses are running.
It seems like you have a Pre-ED character creator or something the like. The efficancy of slotting anything beyond 3 with the same sort of enhancement drops off dramatically now. The 6th SO will give you something like 0.5%.
Also, while you have Personal Forcefield up you cannot attack anyone, or even affect your allies. Also, you'll be sorely up for endo, and your attacks will still be far weaker than other ATs when they hit. Without accuracy, you will be missing a ton. I don't think you can attack with Invisibility up either.
While I'm normally the last one to tell you not to think outside the box, Controllers really work best as their name implies. Holding something helpless is their best defense, and also gives them all of their damage, as their containment passive lets you do double damage on anything held.
With an accuracy, Propel can give you decent single target damage when they are held, so that might work. I really wouldn't worry about being 'tough' as a controller, not being able to be attacked is the best defense after all.

well i like the idea of being a gravity controler but i hate the fact that im the one that has to be the guy who only stops the bad guys so the others can hurt him i dont like that idea i really want to be able to do alot of dmg too

well here is my hero of the day story. I was playing my energy/empath with a team of 6. we were running the hollows mish "defeat all creatures in the cave." I was there strictly to heal and support and the 2 tanks we had didn't want me blasting their aggro away. well we eventually got to the cross section and the accidently aggroed three groups, which killed them all except for me i admit i ran. so i went back to rezz them one by one. well one of my comrades decides to use a wakie on himself and aggroed and aggroed a group to me he of course died instantly so i used powerblast to knockback the group which of course caused further aggro. so I had to continue fighting and slowly bring my friends back. So for a while it was just me and a tank holding the ignaseous monsters at bay till i could rez my other friends. I know this isn't a grand tale and many healers had done more heroic things but it made me feel good.

Using my eldest tank to stand toe to toe with a + 5 LT. Ice patch down, he cant stand up, and my Fiery Aura damaging him a little at a time. I didnt have enough ACC on anything else to hit him. So I just kept this routine up for 20 mins until My Aura finally Stripped him of his Health. Not a particularly great thing. But hey, I can say i took a + 5 LT. heh heh
Tank'ns my Bidness and Bidness is GOOD!
