which server is most populated and/or the best pvp server

All servers are pvp, and when you log in, you get the list of all servers, and how heavy populated they are at that time. I believe there are 10 of them. It depends where you are in the world on which one is the most populated. But when I played most of the servers seemed more or less equally busy. And as Aiden already pointed out we are not allowed to discuss private servers openly, so I won't say anything about that.

Personally, I'm partial to Bartz, just because I started there way back when C1 hit North America.
Though, I'm not going to say that's the best server. Yes, it has alot of PvP against clans, wars, etc (at least from when I remember). It also had drama... alot of it. I'm sure that other servers have that as well to a certain point... but Bartz was terrible.
Not sure how farmers are on there anymore as well. I remember it was always a challenge to find the best spot for leveling - where you wouldn't get too interupted by farmers/bots. Hopefully that's changed. But also too - Bartz is very populated. I remember a few times trying to log in, and couldn't cause the server was full. Hopefully that's changed too.
(not to mention I still remember the "Rang Rang" days...)
Sieghardt - heard good things about. Played on it till I was about level 20 with a dark mystic... didn't have too much of the same problem as Bartz, but then again, I was lower level, and didn't have to deal with the other stuff. The character was mainly just for fun.
Devianne and Hindemith are good servers which I've heard plenty positive comments about. Again, only played on Devianne till about mid 20's, then back to Bartz where most of my "friends" were.
The other servers: Kain, Lionna, Erica, Gustin, Teon, Franz
I suggestm checking Lineage 2's main website. And checking their message boards to get a lil "taste" of the community on each server.
